The four-digit fix

i guess the consumer will bear the cost of these upgrades.

At sites with pumps that can accommodate only R9,99/l, all prices and volumes have been divided by 10, and stickers that indicate that prices must be multiplied by that number have been stuck next to the relevant counters.

Still sounds like a bargain to buy at those pumps. If both price and volumes are divided by 10 and the final price then multiplied by 10 you would still only be paying ten percent of the retail value. :D

Wonder where I can find one of these pumps?

you said it best, but now they will not need to worry, with 4 digit upgrade they can inflate the prices to whatever they want.

Its so funny how those same companies (And i refer to all the oil companies here)
that where hindering progress of the alternative energy for decades now calling it a "mickey mouse"...
are sitting at almost a dead end of the road, once Arab sheiks have decided that they need more luxuries and that is a good time to maximize profits on their natural resource...... those same oil companies are realizing that consumer can only pay so much for it... and it is on border of unfordable now days.. so for next decade or two we will suffer until the alternatives like fuel cell and utilizations of solar power mature enough to allow us to flip the bird to the greedy Arab bastards and their oil magnate companies buddies..

Do what the supermarkets started doing with food, charge per 100ml instead of 1 litre.

(Biltong, only R15 per 100g)

While they're upgrading they should go all the way to a 5 digit upgrade. Why stop at 4 ?
That way they can really screw us...................
