We (Atheba/Bull3tSaint/MoDoGg/CrazyRayDoGg) usually MP on the weekends from my place. So the third console belongs to CrazyRayDoGg when he comes over.

Here's my modest set-up:

Bedroom - 54cm Wharfedale SD TV, Xbox 360 Pro, PSP Slim, Logitech X-530 5.1 Speaker System, 2 PCs (AMD 3200+ AM2 [etc] rig / E2180 Intel Core2Duo [etc] rig)

Lounge - Sinotec 32" HD LCD TV, Xbox 360 Pro travels from my room, Samsung DVD player, 1110 DSTV decoder.

Xbox 360 Elite (RROD) in workshop (awaiting a rebuild - when done, going to lounge).

UPGRADES:

Saving up for a home theater system + HD PVR.

Upgrading the main PC in my bedroom to something decent in 2009. Also hope to buy a laptop (small form factor with Linux installed).

Its crazy how much money we spend to enjoy these games, I think im going to cut down..

I just did a rough work out and my current setup is worth just over 100K as I bought it....CRAZY.....Thats more than my soon to be car

Moving on.... I see many of you have projectors....I want one....What are your opinions on what a good on is...I want it to be HD 1080 and all the usaul in a decent spec....

Nice stuff!!! Yes, you do need to do something with the wiring. Try and get a sound stand with which you can hide the wiring.

@Tsponge the newer projectors are really awesome. And you can even use them in brightly lit rooms with good picture quality still. Its not going to have the same color range as your Full HD Plasma/LCD though.

Very neat stuff!!! Really like the PC setup! Nice choice of graphics card!
I got the ATI Radeon 3870 512MB DDR4. I feel I should take the leap to Vista (DX10) and get the full potential out of the MoBo + GFX but still feel somewhat unsure?

You somewhat left? i.e. Socialist/comm?
 
Ok this is a crap feeling.
I had an old pc ( P4 @3.2 HT , 3 GB DDR400 RAM, Geforce fx5700, Gigabyte p4 titan mobo)
And last night I heard it go POP.....doesn't seem that bad hey ?
Did I mention it had 4x500Gb media drives in it ? that had almost 1800 GB of media and they seem to have died with the pc :( :(

What did I do to deserve this I ask you...
 
I think so....looks like the PSU blew and as a result everything else blew....
Will test it later in my new PC
Do you know of anyone who offers data recovery in JHB ?
 
Ok I need some help here

Let me give you my actual situation.
Ok me and my dad have this agreement in our house regards the "media centre" setup;
The agreement goes whatever he spends on the setup, after agreement, I will spend half.
I.e. My dad spends 2k and I have to spend 1k.

So we have the media centre ( P4 @3.2 HT , 3 GB DDR400 RAM, Geforce fx5700, Gigabyte p4 titan mobo and 4xnew 500gb hdd(possibly blown :( )

Then we have the TV - Samsung 52" Full HD LCD TV (LA52M81)

We also have a good Yamaha amp(RX-V450) and 5.1 speaker package(YAMAHA NS-P240)

The things we are lacking is a BD player and a good wireless network ( draft N maybe)
So I have some catching up to do as my dad has bought all of what we have so far....
What should I buy ?
I'm looking to spend close on 20k(even though this is way less than half of what my dad has spent) and I need a BD player and fast streaming network.
Was considering the PS3 and maybe one of those networks that work through the electrical sockets.
Any other suggested purchases to do with a media centre ?
