What other purpose does the device have OTHER than to obscure your license plate to avoid paying tolls/speeding fines?

Track days or such, if you use your vechile on private roads and want to use a different plate... not sure. Or perhaps show cars that have the model name on the number plate but you need a legal plate to get it to the venue.

None of those "examples" would be bought by a cop.

Why do you need to have a different plate for Track Days? Why can't you just stick the name of the car over the numberplate at a car show?

sister received etoll invoices for 2 of their cars. both invoices show a car registration number but the pics are of other cars (also belonging to them). in total she received 8 pieces of paper - a transaction report, a copy tax invoice, an account statement and "correspondence" for each of the 2 cars.

For sure I would not want to explain it and I for one won't go near it, just saying there are possible if not plausable reasons for having one that are not illegal... far fetched perhaps.

I wonder how will Car Rental like Eurocar Hire will charge it's clients?

I guess ame as companies in other countries do it, you give them you credit card details on rental and they simply bill you when they get it, then they add an admin charge to it.

I rented a car and paid more for the admin charge then the actual toll charges. :wtf:

all this cr@p and it could have been solved with a 10c/ltr fuel levy.....

Thats why I'm saying it MIGHT get thrown out in court... but the person will still get charged for it by the police officer who pulls them over. Also when the person gets belligerent about it, they can expect to end up in the back of the police vehicle and spend the night in jail more than likely.

Not worth the effort for sure... flimsy case to say the least...

Does anyone know what happens when you tow a trailer? Do they check front or back plates or both?

It will more than likely be seen as 2 vehicles, so it will be charged for twice.

Logic would dictate such, wonder if they would check vechile type on E-Natis before billing you ? it would be possible but probably beyond their ability... eish

I wonder what the max speed is that they will still get the number plate in picture ? I know on speed cameras it is pretty high but these are not speed cameras... mmmmmmm hahaha
