I saw a SANRAL bake pulling over a motorist yesterday on the N1. I wonder what its about?

Today is the 7th day. let's see how many of us who refuse to pay get summons and threats, etc.

They're not sending invoices for every toll fee incurred, and certainly not within 7 days. They are apparently planning on sending monthly invoices and you have 59 days to pay from date of invoice. If you want to pay in 7 days the onus is on you to determine the amount and manually pay.

End of Jan/Feb will be when the SHTF.

So the previous owner of my car informed me that the fees due on his personal plate (They were attached to the car when I fetched it) have gone.. down :confused:

There were fees of around R63 or so. Now it says I owe R40 odd. Interesting. Billing error? (Note: Also says I passed through 8 tolls instead of 12 when it was at 60 )

I think it is because that site is only showing the 7 day tolls which are payable - after 7 days they move to the Violations Processing Centre for invoicing.
 
Yeah that might be the cause. Since I am no longer using that plate we shall see if it goes down to 0.

Seriously, if this is legit, should release to media. Will be uber embarrassing for SANRAL.

Well it's headlined on the mybb news site. Incidentally as per sanral threats I trust that car won't be allowed to leave the country until the fees are paid?

Actually, all the vehicles in the motorcade apparently have the same plates, so it makes sense that it could add up so quickly: http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.co...-with-taxation-without-representation-plates/

I'm sure the secret service would consider this a very serious breach of security. In theory it gives away the number of vehicles, by watching it increment you can get an idea of where they are if you have rough idea of the route, etc etc.

Definitely needs to be released to media.
