Strangely enough, I've not received another 'invoice' from SANRAL nor have I received any more SMSs. Odd.

No, so just ignore whatever you "don't get"

+1

I haven't received anything from them yet, no mails or e-mails or sms's. But then I also didn't go to their website or visited any of their stores or centres.

Got my 1st invoice on Friday for the 3rd-6th of Dec, totalling R495, no pics included (wth?). Then I got an SMS on Sunday saying I owed R1200+. So with zero photographic evidence, it seems like I'm being extorted! :D

Shocking....

If one assumes that they will issue an invoice for every three days that means that they still owe or need to send you around 12 invoices for your travels up to the end of last week.

When one considers the time frame taken as with your first invoice it will mean that you will only be invoiced for this upcoming week in around 6 weeks or around the 7th of March.

Also consider that you then have 30 or 60 days to pay and it will mean that they will only get their money around 4 to 5 months after you passed the gantry, that is if all invoices are 100% correct which we know is not the case. So its more than possible that SANRAL might have to wait up to 6 or 9 months before they get their money....

Talk about an 'efficient' system....

So I had family in-law over yesterday all of them coming from outside of the province... and it made me wonder how they were suppose to pay for the system if they wanted to pay for the system (which I obviously discouraged).

There aren't e-toll shops out of the province, and they don't have e-tags. So how will they go about paying the amount due? I don't really see any way that it will be possible for them to pay.

They can register as a VLN user telephonically and pay via credit card.
No provision has been made for people who wish to pay SANRAL via EFT without first registering and accepting the draconian terms and conditions.

Lol, no I'm sorry but they can't. You don't give credit card details over the phone to somebody somewhere. Any other way?

VPC is going too far.

I've paid my bill but they still send a threatening SMS again today for the same amount as last time. Paid off the full amount last week! They sent it to my husband's number even though they have my correct number on file.

Soon people that are paying will be wondering why they bother since VPC are still threatening action despite accounts being up to date.

I have had radio silence from SANRAL.

This might mean someone else has received my bill.

Still no invoice and I still refuse to pay. They can shove it. I will pay when I see a court date.

That's what you get for paying ;)

I dont get how epicly retarted they are. They want u to pay but they put ten million obstacles in your way - that alone should be good enough for a court defence
