The hat that wakes up sleepy drivers

For tired drivers worried about falling asleep at the wheel, help could be at hand - in the form of a hi-tech hat that scans your brainwaves to detect when you're drifting off.

The cap - which has been designed for truck drivers working on mining operations - is fitted with hi-tech brain monitoring sensors.

If it thinks the driver is getting sleepy, it sends a message to a computer screen in their cab, which flashes an alert warning them to take a rest.
