The Help-SSB-get-a girlfriend-project thread

2nd date do something fun where you can both relax and laugh.

Go to the zoo. Do they have a lake near you where you can hire a rowing boat?
Go-karting
ice skating :)
Gold Reef city
or just a romantic picnic in the botanical gardens...

We're going out tonight to movie at Menlyn, please help me pick the movie to watch:

Beverly Hills Chihuahua - NO!

Death Race - Maybe

Eagle Eye - Maybe

Heroes - Maybe not

High School Musical 3: Senior Year - NO!

Lakeview Terrace - WTF? I wouldn't know, so a maybe

Mamma Mia! - No, has been watched by her

Max Payne -Maybe

My Best Friend's Girl - Maybe

Nights in Rodanthe - Maybe

Pineapple Express - WTF? I wouldn't know, so a maybe

Righteous Kill - WTF? I wouldn't know, so a maybe

Stop-Loss - WTF? I wouldn't know, so a maybe

The Strangers - WTF? I wouldn't know, so a maybe

Any recommendations and advice would be appreciated to make my final decision, I really havent been into the new movies for a while so have never heard of some of these. The selection seems a bit bare in quality.

Go for something light hearted...nothing that is depressing, makes you cry or is a skop-skiet-and-donner movie. Ask her if there's anything she'd like to see.

Can i suggest you let her pick the movie and sit through whatever it is not matter how agonizing?

No to Beverley hills chihuahua :(, sis you dog hater you.

Ja, don't want to get into the friends zone!!!

a kiss on the first date will never get you friendzoned... even if it was just a peck.
it makes your intentions clear, she now knows where you stand and you werent to scared to just chicken out and shake her hand or something. good move.

general rule - when it comes to a 2nd date and movies you can never fail with a rom com (though i'd prefer to do something where we can have fun and talk etc... i'm a big fan of go-karts or gold reef for a 2nd/3rd date but i think its more age relevant so yeah)

suggest my best friend's girl. if she's already seen it, let her make a suggestion.
(bonus, if she picks an action/thriller etc it will make her emotions go wild and she'll feel a deeper connection with you because she shared the thrill and action etc with you)

Gold reef city is SOOOO far away and there is no go cart places in PTA that I know about anymore.

either choose my best friend's girl as its a chick flick, which she should enjoy and you would score brownie points...

...otherwise the strangers, which i hear is pretty scarry, which will get the adrenaline pumping, thus get her endorphines up and that can lead to pretty good times

ps: i would suggest cocktails afterwards next door at menlyn square, rhapsody's or newscafe

I'd say My Best Friends Girl.

Apparently its a romantic comedy done by the same producers/writers as Good Luck Chuck.

yeah, its a bit far. didn't see that you're from garsfontein... just wanted to throw the idea out there.
alternatively, see whats happening at the drive in on top of menlyn. its different to what she'll be used to... if i recall correctly (havent been there in ages), the seat is basically a long bench, so you dont have an arm rest between you... works great for cuddling.
and yeah, i agree with wizdumb, cocktails afterwards would be a great idea.

(ps, any mashie/put-put courses in pta?)

The date went well I guess (the movie not what I expected, not a regular rom com, a bit raunchy), when i drove her home she liked my CD with House-ish music a lot, then i had some coffee and we listened to some music and watched some tv and then I went home at 10. Gave her another normal lips to lips brief kiss.

How the hell do I know if she likes me? Do people ask people to be their guy/girl? Thinking of taken her out for dinner next time. She laughs a lot at things I say. I like don't want to go too slow, cause its either you like the other person or it not. But I don't to do something to scare her away by like going too far or whatever. Eish, this dating things so hard :(
