Simonsberg (twice in one month, eish)
The Dome and West peak
Duiwelskloof to Afrikaskop
Wolwekloof
Pimple Traverse Table Mountain
Kogelberg
Etc.

All within an hour or so's drive from home

Use to be Oude Westhof, but sadly it's Rotterdam these days. Fortunately travel back frequently for business, so can always sneak a hike in.

My most killer hike to date was Mont Rochelle uitkyk via perdekop. 16km of extreme work but pure bliss from the views we had and managed to mess around in the snow only 8 ppl were up with us that day.

What a beautiful world you guys have that side. So many beautiful trails.

We're actually doing Perdekop next. My most hectic one when I was fit was Miaspoort, and Jonkershoek.

In the cederberg you plan your can plan your own routes. Longest hike I've done there is 8 days. Lesotho I've done a 10 day hike.

That's a very long time to not shower

We're actually doing Perdekop next. My most hectic one when I was fit was Miaspoort, and Jonkershoek.

You must do the uitkyk via perdekop route the otherway round is even more killer. Take proper clothes we experienced hot and freezing cold weather in October.

This route its left first from the entrance not right

Take trekking poles and loads of water, take decent snacks took us almost 6 hours.

I make my own trail mix
I throw into a jiffy bag the following:
. salted peanuts
. jelly tots
. raisins
. speckled eggs
. cashew nuts

I always have sliced biltong or droewors

And I carry 1 litre water and 1 litre naartjie game

I think 16.5km and 5.5-6 hours spent loads of time messing in the snow and enjoying the views.

You're going to dig it. Went up there two years ago for a trail run in the snow but realized very quickly that running was next to impossible as the trails were iced over. Still, was worth it.

We also ensure that we now hike when traveling the world so did one in Serbia too Thats why I have light trail shoes and fold-able trekking pole for flying. Awesome way to see the rest of the world
