The Hobbit Ticket Price

Hi Guys.

I just tried booking 2 tickets for The Hobbit movie at Gateway Ster Kinekor. It was a 3D but the glasses are charged at an additional cost over the ticket price.

I was shocket to see that the ticket price is R70 per ticket. I mean seriously. R140 for R tickets excluding 3d glasses. Thats very steep

R50 at Nu Metro for the 2D version, I'm sure the Nu Metro 3D price is also cheaper.

But yeah... I'm becoming very disappointed with Ster Kinekor! :mad:

What are "R" tickets"? Must be some secret club thing which I am unaware of which possibly explains the exorbitant price...
 
Ster-Kinekor has higher quality theatres than NuMetro
 
I'm guessing "R tickets" means 2 tickets and was typed on some sort of mobile device where a shift or fn key should've been used

Nu metro was also R70 per ticket for 3D, if you have a fanatics card its half price on wednesday!

They installed 4K and Atmos in Durban??? :wtf:
 
There are only two reasons I ever go to the cinema.

James Bond and Tolkien.

This year I will add one extra - Les Miserables.

Some things just cannot be watched on tv.

I just paid R80 for 5 tickets at Ster Kinekor. (Prebooked a week early, but still.)

Well I'm planning to watch it this Sunday morning with my daughter and seriously thinking of going to Nu Metro because they not only offer me inserts for my prescription glasses, are a little bit cheaper but my local Ster K sucks donkey balls with their quality. Heck I'm going to be spending over R250 after we factor in all our expenses, might as well add in another R70 for petrol and make it worth our while.
