Can anyone advise on painting raw vibracrete walling that's not going to peel off? (we have the ugly side of the wall)

I'd like to do a small 5m section outside my kitchen - before fixing trellis to it.
Permobond..

In the video on the link they showcase it with exactly your use case..

Hi Everyone,

I need to install LED downlights in a bathroom (with existing insulation in the ceiling). Preferably with a 6500k color temperature, satin/matt silver finish and possibly dimmable.

Does anyone have any experience using Brightstar LED downlights , specifically this spec (Brightstar DL701) in a bathroom application? These ones are 4000k in color temperature and don't really provide any IP ratings in their specs.

I'm leaning towards an "all in one" fitting than going with a GU10 type of light fitting.

Any recommendations?

Thanks a lot.
To be on the safe route I use IP rated GU10 fittings for downlights in the soffit outside and the bathrooms... Just bought 8 of them new for our new build.

I have a question on this, there seems to be a common idea that whoever has the nicer side of the vibracrete owns the wall.

If I look down my road, facing the houses... all the houses have nice sides on their left boundary walls and ugly sides on their right. Makes me think that the boundary walls were put up years and years ago and there was no decision on who "owns" the vibracrete wall and gets the nice side.

I also assume that vibracrete walls would have been built directly on the boundary line, not on one specific neighbours side... otherwise then looking down the line of all the back walls I'd expect to see the walls rather haphazard, and not all in a neat line.

Is there really any concensus on who "owns" vibracrete walls?

I'd imagine unless its 100% on your property - its "shared". I don't think you can own a wall on the boundary even if you paid for it.

My one neighbour (who was an *******) - tried to claim ownership of the boundary wall, said he built it - asked him why he put the nicer side on my side, and if he has the receipts - never heard from him again.

Can't answer your question.. what I would say though, if I wanted to replace a boundary wall and the neighbors wouldn't want to contribute, not that they have to, I would most definitely put the nice side facing towards me.. that being said, I would never put up a vibracrete wall unless it does not have an ugly side..

Picked up 10 litres - so here's hoping it all goes well on Friday.

I want to do a outdoor shower, similiar to this - that I can connect a hosepipe to at the bottom, or side. Where is the best place to get the "plumbing" parts for a rough outdoor shower?

You can find galvanized pipe in 15/20mm size and various lengths and all sorts of fittings from plumblink.. will definitely add to that rough look..

Depends on tour negotiations skills, but I paid R40 per m2
I have been quoted R120 per sqm for 1200x600 porcelain tile and R95 per sqm for 600x600 porcelain tiles.
This tiler did a bathroom for me and does a stunning job but was hoping to get a lower price.
What is the highest rate charged and what do builders charge? Have more than 130 sqm to tile

You going to shower outdoors with cold water in Cape Town ?

If it doesn't blow away.... It's more for when we come home from the beach, covered in sand.
If you want that extra rustic look, take a hose pipe and cable tie it to the wall with the head hanging over the same as a shower head. Cheap and even the wife can build it, will give her DIY abilities a huge boost.

So the rubbish plumber is apparently also the certified wiring electrician, this is his work... the db board has been cemented in at this glorious angle.

A level...? Not even once.

I just pulled it out the wall last night before it dried and sent a pic to the builder.

Feels like I've become the foreman now

Dried cement or not, there is no ways that you can accept that.
