Does anyone use Blu 52 and would you recommend it?

We've been using a cup of HTH per day and running the pool 8 hours per day, still the walls are going green so thinking of changing to Blu 52.

65k litre marbelite pool in Fairland. Any tips?

get a proper algecide, measure the ph and make sure it is as per recomendation before adding the algecide

I've just bought algaecide etc thanks but running the pump 8 hours a day - is that normal?

8 hours a day is perfectly fine, when the pool is fine you can likely get away with a little less, 4-6 hours, basically you want to turn all the water over in the pool once (through the filter in other words) in a 24 hour period. you also want to run the pool during the hottest part of the day, so generally like from 10:00-14:00 around that time slot so like I run mine from 10 - 3 daily

also i generally suggest you put chemicals in at night, i.e early evening when the sun is going down.

Mine is not marbleite, gets one cup of HTH every two weeks and a monthly floater. My pump runs for about 4 hours a day. 50kl, fibreglass lining. Solar heating.

It's never green, although I have an issue with blisters and will need to reline at some point

Thank you Steamy, perhaps I need to run it like you say, during the hottest part of the day.

Will do the treatment routine then try that.

So the empty pit has been filled (concrete all round under the fake grass) - we used a combination of building rubble and normal soil - compacted down, and then I'd say 10-20cm of concrete on top - how long do you recon to leave it before installing vinyl over the top? I have a concern it might sag. (builder doesnt seem to think so)

Did they put reinforcing of some sort in? If yes then unlikely to sag

Hey guys,

I have a tap outside, when I open that tap, sounds like a machine gun, some seriously loud continuous banging sound.

Close the tap and noise stops.

What causes this? How do I fix?

Could be air trapped in the line. Maybe try bleed the line

First try replacing the washer. If that doesn’t work, then you’d need to flush the pipes: you can do this by opening all the taps in proximity to this tap, and flush toilets as well, this might flush out some of the air. If that still doesn’t work, you’ll probably need to check the pipe.

Having tiles replaced at our entrance with saved tiles from the room we're renovating, can see why they cracked.
