I am looking to do a complete reno of my bathroom.. this will be a 'from scratch' Reno and would like to have a single company or contractor that can do the tiling plumbing etc..

I am in N/Surbs CT.. anyone have recommendations..?

I advertised mine on gumtree - made it the buyers responsibility to collect and remove, but it was fairly easy, only had to cut the power, remove a sliding door - and out it went.

btw - get the value for it before you sell it, I advertised ours at R7,500 - and got a ton of messages, thought something was up, got a quote and they sold for over R40k new - promptly deleted the ad - relisted at R20k - and it sold almost immediately.

-- oddly enough - the above jacuzzi room I'm busy converting to a play room - painting it tonight, and then I'll have some questions about making a steps into the hole.

Yeah, that could be a plan, although I dont really want some random chopping up my house.

Now that i think about it, its more a jacuzzi bath than an actual jacuzzi if that makes a difference.

Best product for ibr waterproofing. Basically where it touches the walls and the overlaps with the screws.

Got a quote of R8k sure incouldndonit for under R2k

I've had endless problems with my roof - spent over R50k on companies... last year I started doing it myself (after spending R20k and still having issues)

Using Duram FibreTech - and it seems to be holding out

I actually used it on a barrel as well - and its still holding water without leaking.

Thanks will try it out.

You end up doing three/four coats - but - if I compare what I did last year, to what the roofing "specialists" did last year, my work looks like it was just done, and their's already needed touching up.

That's exactly what my roof has - and leaked for the past 9 years - until last year.

I still need to redo the membrane on the wall against around the roof and this meets the brackets and over the silicone.
It rained heavily last week and the week before and there was no leak at all.

Hi

I looking for a reputable construction company that has experience doing underpinning (pile) of foundations in Western Cape, work need to be done in the southern suburbs.

Yeah Duram FibreTech is pretty awesome...

I have a wall that is holding back about 2m of soil in my kitchen, and its coated on both sides with Fibretech and I haven't seen a single drop of water in the 3 years its been in place.

Granted I went to town on all sorts of things.... there is a french drain behind the wall, there is a water proof cement slurry on the outside, as well a damptite and fibretech.... and damptite and fibretech on the inside.

The instructions do say you can use it for creating a pond that holds water...so it must be pretty resilient - I might actually use it to waterproof my one outside wall that seems to have damp issues in winter.

Yeah, I will more than likely do the same on a few places as well... its been very good where I have used it, so will be more judicious with its use in the future.

Ooohh.. so this can be used to treat some rising damp and then paint over it with the normal wall colour?

Not sure about rising damp, depends on the source of the water... but yes, in theory you can paint over, although it comes in a few colours.

I have an old house and have airbricks all over the place... Even internal ones from bedroom into the passage. Can I close them al up whilst renovating or are they stil required by code?
