Has anyone ordered from https://leroymerlin.co.za/
They have some nice tile options and always pop up for any diy searches I do. But quality? Legit?
100% legit. Bought tons from them. Like literal tons of bricks sand cement laminate floors etc

I suggest you go into the store it's awesome compared to what we have here. I.e. builders warehouse

Totally legit, and I WISH I had one of them down in Durban.... they have a great range of products.

Yeah I see they only in JHB. Pitty they look pretty awesome.
So I'll have to pay a visit to the closest things here in Cape Town and see what I can find.

They deliver nationwide...

I just did a test, and it looks like they will deliver to DBN for R100.... (20 boxes of tiles)

Has anyone had to obtain building plans for an existing property from the local council? I'm in Sandton so need to go to the Metro Centre in Braamfontein but not sure what I need to take with to ensure a streamlined-as-possible process.

Take the copy of your bond documents detailing address/erf or a copy of your title deed (if you have it)... and some cash.

Id and latest Municipal bill should be fine.

Well they have pretty good reply time. But at R1100-R1500 per square meter it's way too expensive. Price list attached.

So onto some of those merchants or maybe we do just tile a backdrop...
I don't think it's too pricy comparing it to mosaics that are close to the R1k mark per square

Also R35 to a DSV collection point of which I drive past 2 daily.
Will defiantly be purchasing something from them in the future - I can tell.

I think I will be as well, obviously just to do a bit of a test at first but it could become a more regular thing.

We're looking at creating a new splash back for our stove. We're thinking a glass splash back (against the painted wall) with a wallpaper of some sort or film on the back (against the wall).
Has anyone done anything similar?
What glass would you use?
If i had the choice (and finance of course) i would personally consider a granite splash back. It can be bought in a variety of different colours etc and is super easy to keep clean... No grouting etc. Just a thought/personal opinion. Alternatively, if you are 100% set on glass, why not consider a coloured glass of some sort as apposed to using a wallpaper? The wallpaper idea would be a no no for me because of the possibility of oil getting onto it or it looking tatty after a while etc

Coloured glass is around R2k per square meter from the one guideline price I got.

I've picked up some wood to use as steps - 38mm (thick) x 228m (wide) x 2400mm (length) - what is the chances of it warping in the sun? Wood is wet - so need it to dry
