Yup. Ultimately pointless paying for their services in a way. Lesson learnt. The experience I have now , however, should ensure I never get caught out again.

For laughs (and insights) had gone to see some houses for sale in the area. Amazing what my educated eyes see now compared to three years ago. Highlighting certain issues to the agent illicits some strange responses from them.

some of them can be really good, but it needs to be better regulated and there needs to be proper codes and fallback.

I completely agree though, its amazing how much you can see the second/third etc time around.

Right, so come Monday this is all coming down to be replaced by the pics of something more sensible I posted previously.

What pics did you post?

Thatch is quite a good insulator, will you be using insulation in the new setup as well?

What's the cost and what are you replacing it with? Might be going Ona journey like this soon.

Any recommendations for a decent toilet seat? The ones from Builders all break at the hinges and at R399 a seat it is becoming a bit ridiculous now.

Also looking, as I've found the same issue.

Whole new Toilet? :p

Honestly, I doubt you will find a decent one that doesn't break after awhile these days...

how big is the a$$ sitting on the toilet? :p

We have literally not broken a toilet seat in any of our houses over years of use?

which part breaks? where it fastens?

The hinges underneath the seat and the ones holding the lid.

For those that have done it: 2500L Water tank and pump system tied into municipal water line. What's the costs ?
