I have heard lots of people say that but most I spoke to it was something they heard. My experience has been pretty different.
Every single Ryobi tool I've owned has ended up not working. Mark my words. If you use your tools, and they are Ryobi, they will not last. I was even once looking a Ryobi saw at builders and a random guy came up to me and warned me ;) Bosch, Milwaukee, DeWalt...this is what to go for.

haha maybe you the problem :p /jk

Ryobi is cheap enough to buy and use. 8f it breaks then get a decent Version of that took.

If you use the blue range of ryobi then you're good to go. The green stuff don't last unkess you bought it 10 years ago

I avoid Ryobi like the plague. Rubbish tools.
I agree, Ryobi green is rubbish.. the blue is better, not the best.. however, of you are on a budget and you need something for occasional light duty use, Ryobi will be just fine..

It does depend on the kind of tool though, I have a small Ryobi drill press that I bought as a stopgap probably about 10 years ago and it is still going strong.
Their drills and angle grinders however compete for the shortest lifespan award in the power tool category.

Cant really do Milwaukee and DeWalt in SA, the range is tiny and the pricing is just stupid.
It really comes down to Bosch blue and Makita. Surprisingly Makita has a much bigger range of locally available 18V tools.

Quick question on paint. I'm planning on repainting the lounge with Plascon Double Velvet.

I want a colour that's not part of the standard Double Velvet range. Do I need to buy 5L Double Velvet white and 5L of the base for them to mix and tint it or do I just buy the base and then they'll tint it?

You choose the colour they choose the appropriate base which differs in price depending on the tint.

Ceilings coming in

So after hearing you guys loud and clear, I have installed some isotherm in my bedroom prior to getting an aircon put in however when I was in the roof and I layed out the isotherm, I couldn't help but fear that this stuff may promote pests and insects.
Do you any of you with isotherm or any roofing insulation face this kinda problem?

Also what do you recommend that I use to kill of any pests like cockroaches in my roof area? I have not really noticed any but im sure there maybe a few

Not a bad idea to get your roof area vacuumed before putting down insulation. There are companies that do this.

I have a slab with internal gutters which have a bend.

The one is blocked what is the best way to unblock it?

I'm going to try the high pressure washer from the outlet side and see if that works

If you can't unblock it with hoses and/or high pressure washer from either side, you will need to get a plumber to come in with their fancy roto-rooter type gadgets.

Any advice on what to buy to get rid of these weeds without damaging the grass?Weeds.jpg
