Anyone have a smart mirror in their bathroom?

I'm thinking of playing around with an RPI and... just play around with the idea.

So I am in the temp study and the desk is right by the window.. with the current storm blowing through CPT, I can feel the cold air around this window.. four block, two top swing opening, single pane aluminium..

Now I am wondering, could I use a sheet of perspex to create a "double pane" window to help insulate the window, at least for the two bottom fixed panes..?

Use some weather stripping and double sided tape to create a seal and a 3cm or so air gap..

Am I just pissing in the wind here..?

Edit:

I have some temperature sensors that I can use to monitor the temperature to get a baseline before attempting this and then check what it's like after, if I attempt this..

If you can feel the air it might not help much as the window is not sealing properly. Maybe add some foam strips to block air. Got some stripps up here GP, that is more of a memory foam than sponge that would be perfect. 3*12/25mm

So, I don't feel any air blowing in through the window and the existing seals are in very good condition.. it's just a pocket of cold air hanging around there..

Then it might be a very interesting project to see how much that double glazing pocket influences the surrounding temps. Please report back.

the problem is dealing with variables, how can he maintain a constant temp in the surrounding to validate the results?
