So here's a fun one. I had to replace the Jojo lower tank fitting recently (decided to install a thicker outlet pipe) so I screwed out the old 40mm male fitting and tried to install a new one and somehow I managed to loosen the 50mm fitting on the tank! Now it seems this damn fitting is a bulkhead fitting so I somehow managed to loosen the damn internal "moer" holding the seal and 50mm in place.

Anyone have any idea how to easily tighten it without having to climb inside the damn tank to hold the inner moer in place?
You'll have to send someone inside. Or make one moerse long handle for your spanner.

Send in a kid.

A bit on the expensive side for what it is though.. trim router with a plunge router attachment.. you'll have a less powerful motor on that, versus a full plunge router..
I generally needed a trim router 99% of the time so suits my needs perfectly, but I get your point :)

There's a Youtube for that using a stick to get it in place... not sure why you'd have to hold anything inside while tightening... just hold the thread on the outside?

Just a further update on this , the chaps from here https://aerolite.org.za/

came to install yesterday and they did a fabulous job. They also covered up the geysers (well re-did it) and insulated all the pipes too (I had done the warm water ones previously), They were clean, fast and professional . They also removed some roof tiles to get into a section that had a small crawl space to insulate - so very thorough. I was quoted 22k for 135mm aerolite for what I said was 280sqm. It ended up being 250sqm and total bill was just short of 20k.

Going to recommend aerolite and this company. We feel the difference already.

Aerolite is good once it's in and you don't have to touch it again. Just advise that no one try to DIY - I did this due to trust issues and the labour alone is worth more than R20k.

Can't dig through YouTube at work but will try find it when I get home

Lol, +1 to this. That stuff gets into your skin and lungs. I dread going up into my ceiling since I installed it.

Yup. Just saw an old builders ad from early this year , where they were selling it for a 380 per 135mm roll . Did a quick calculation based on that price , and for my install , labour was then probably about 3k at builders prices. There is also no way I would have done it at the quality that they did. Amazing job. Five days later, so glad we did it, the house is so much warmer and if we turn on a heater in a room, it actually maintains the heat.

I did climb into my roof and had to troubleshoot one AP failing as the cable got loose (my fault for using a RJ45 without clip ) and I was expecting itching but never felt anything. Wonder if they have a new type of material? Also right now it looks awesome in the roof with the Aerolite having no dust on it, I guess it's gonna be gross in one year.

Nope. They are still using the glass wool material. It's a side effect of the material:

.

Installing it was rough because cutting it to size caused particles to go everywhere. The first time I wore a short sleeve t-shirt which was a big mistake, my arms were itching for days . Had to get a full face mask and overalls to finish up the install.

I'm happy having the peace of mind that I installed it and did a proper job but if I need to do it again I'll pay a company to do it.

Has anyone had a patio roof / awning installed recently? Been getting a few quotes and prices seem crazy (so far I've been looking at the awnings that can open and close). Can anyone recommend a more cost effective solution or company they can recommend?
