Damn, my brickies would have had that at hip height on day 1 and 1.8m on day 2.

I saw these kind of hoses but in my mind anything that is mechanical will fail in the future.

So I opted for this hose: (I must say this hose quality is so good, I can honestly say it's the best hose I've used to date)

With a rotate-able steel rim mounted against the wall to roll it up on.

Bonus: The steelie is currently being decorated by the wife. She's happy to do these silly things and I'm happy to let her. Happy all round. :ROFL:

Learnt the hard way more than once to ask the job price.
 
Anyone have any experience with shade sails? Want to get one for above the pool that I can take down when unused for extended periods

Was looking at the Coolaroo - but I see its R1000 (almost 100%) more than the Kalahari?

Have one at home, but it was a custom one and it never comes down...

In theory it can come down, but its not going to be easy because its tensioned up significantly.

Yeah.. I got a 5x5 Kalahari sail.. works fine and don't see why coolaroo is so much more expensive..

Coolaroo does have nice fitting accessories though, so I bought those for my shade sail..

Reason for such?

In my case, was considering the same but predominantly to prevent all the leaves from the tree above the pool from falling into the pool during autumn/winter, but this is over a 12X 8m area.

In the end , went for a leaf catcher cover for pool. And it's been doing a stellar job.

However, the coolaro brand you mentioned is good. Have a small cover on other side of house, and its holding up. About 8 months too.

My neighbour has a beige one up in summer months (about 7-8 months; JHB north), then takes it down over winter; he's had it more than 5 years now and still looks intact/not worn. Looks like a Coolaroo from the label.

Shade above the pool? It has no shade, and with a kid, I'd prefer some cover.

I see you can buy tensioners for quite cheap - not sure how good they are.

I actually have the Coolaro fittings, bought them for a previous shade cover that I never got round to - so the plan is to reuse them. Also not sure why the price shot up, pretty sure its almost double what it was a few years ago.

I have one too for 3 months now, good Polish hose.

All true. But both Russian and Polish hose don't last long in the African sun; the intense UV rays causes damage over time. Best to keep them indoors for longevity
 
I want to put a jojo in a spot that has paving. Must I remove the paving and then have a cement slab put in the area to ensure it is level? The current paving is at an angle.

It's a good idea to have a cement slab under the Jojo to handle the weight when it's full of water and to keep it level.
