Almost two years after the fact now and still loving it!

Only thing I'd possibly change would be to have made the side table just a bit longer.
Wait... how did a quote a post that old
Must have not noticed that I was on the first page of the thread...

Glad you're still enjoying it though, can't believe 2 years have gone by.

Almost getting ready for the next big project which would be to redo two bathrooms in the house. It has expanded somewhat from the original scope though.

We'll be reclaiming a portion of the main bedrooms dressing area to enlarge the actual bathroom which will require the demolition to an internal wall. This entails then having to add 3 new double door cupboards to the bedroom which sounds simple until you take the alterations to the recessed ceilings into account.

Just to complicate things a little more the laminate flooring runs as a whole from the main bedroom, down the passage and the TV room so this will also all be replaced as part of the process.

Effectively we need to move out of our bedroom and living area for about a month or 2

What do you guys think would be a good way to fill a drilled hole, when you need to redrill a new hole a few mm away from it? It's for security gates so needs to be strong and secure.

Polyfilla and the like would just be too weak I'd imagine, plus getting it to fill a 8mm x 75mm hole properly is going to be tough.

I was thinking to fill the hole with chemical anchor, that way if I need to drill the new hole partly onto it then it should still be nice and strong.

Issue is also that I'm going to fill the hole and repaint over it, so may not know exactly where the original holes were.
Chemical anchor

I wish they'd sell extra mixing nozzles at builders/brights/etc. For the price of chemical anchor a spare nozzle doesn't feel like too much to ask.

They only give you one, and if you don't finish the tube it's a PITA to try and reuse what's left without a mixing nozzle. I've used a normal sillicone nozzle, but it doesn't mix as well...
Agree. Like the expanded foam canisters and nozzles.

So one of the few companies who actually responded quotes me R11500 for 12.5m2... saying that's the starting price.... needless to say - I'll keep looking.
Gosh, that's pricey.

Look the guys that did mine didn't do an absolutely perfect job, I wouldn't be happy with it if I was just going to epoxy - but for the price it's perfect for going under laminate/vinyl planks

Yeh, still waiting for the Parow branch to get back to me - but don't think they're going to.

Worst case - we go back to tiles - but - that is worst case :D

Maybe ?

Getting closer and closer to tiles - UV film for the glass is currently sitting at R4000 then R8000 odd + a little more for the vinyl....

Variations of concrete flooring quotes are R11,000 - R14,500.

Which type of concrete floors? Polished?
Last year prices were averaging around R650/square

How many squares?

Hi all

I'm doing a DIY to install lights down my driveway. I purchased 2.5mm2 twin and earth thinking thicker is better but I've been advised that light circuits can't be done with 2.5mm2, only 1.5mm2. I've already placed it in conduit and buried it, so will be difficult to replace.

Does anyone have a view on the correctness of the statement? I want it to pass CoC later.

Thanks.
