They're quite common in homes these daysWe put them in specifically for winter - our bedrooms/bathrooms are on a side of the house that gets no sun in winter, and the towels don't try between baths/showers.
Had to google it.... See there's ones that's not so expensive. Makes sense drying out the towel. They're quite common in homes these daysWe put them in specifically for winter - our bedrooms/bathrooms are on a side of the house that gets no sun in winter, and the towels don't try between baths/showers.
Also had the issue of towel not drying from one day to the next in winter. They're quite common in homes these daysWe put them in specifically for winter - our bedrooms/bathrooms are on a side of the house that gets no sun in winter, and the towels don't try between baths/showers.

Solved by using the wet cloth first after a shower to remove most water from my body, then when I get out the towel is only used for the last bit of wetness. This way, the towel doesn't get soaking wet and easily dry out for the next day, even same day, in winter, in bathroom with no sun.
Takes an extra minute but works and costs no extra in electricity nor things that pack up like your heater towel rail. Maybe an idea.
I'm sure you can use a nodemcu and tap into the built in temp sensor. And the run a relay to control the switching of the rail. They're quite common in homes these daysWe put them in specifically for winter - our bedrooms/bathrooms are on a side of the house that gets no sun in winter, and the towels don't try between baths/showers.
That just seems rather excessive, but then again I'm the type of guy who is like you're cold, wear a jacket, here's a fluffy blanket. We're not exactly living in a really cold country.Aggg why get all cost conscious..
Just get a heated floor, and heated towel rails and all that... then the bathroom can be lekker toasty warm ALL the time![]()

Yeah you Durbanites think 23 is chillyDon't worry, I'm the same in reality...
Its a bit chilly here in Durbs today, but fsck that the aircon is still off and I'm parking in my office with a jacket on.
Yeah you Durbanites think 23 is chilly. Go down to Durbs in winter with a maximum temp of 27 and everyone is walking around in long pants.
I mean sure I was born there, but I've acclimatized.
Going to see what the rep says when he phones. I'd ideally like to try and replace the controller with a manual one - like we have in the other bathroom. Keep it simple.I'm sure you can use a nodemcu and tap into the built in temp sensor. And the run a relay to control the switching of the rail.
So every afternoon from about 3pm23 is fscking cold ffs...
Hell any day when there are clouds is cold![]()
Seems like I bit off more than I can chew hahaha. So today fitted my first motorized loft staircase. Everything mounted and working with just some nip tuck needed for clearances. Then automation takes place. Will make a video.

Staircase is motorised, problem is setting it up on a receiver. Sonoff would be perfect here but the damn old people don't like these things... too complicated for them even though I offered to have it on remote as well
Is qwikswitch not an option as a receiver? Also pretty simple to use.Seems like I bit off more than I can chew hahaha.

This is something I've looked into using. Problem is getting the receiver to latch for the set period, setting the reverse (2nd switch will work) and then having my emergency stop.Is qwikswitch not an option as a receiver? Also pretty simple to use.

The playing card trick has been an amazing help, between that and laser level the work was a lot easier.
Using the same number of playing cards top and bottom to get even spacing..Playing card trick?
I must have missed that post if it was mentioned earlier in the thread
