Apparently, there are open ones on trend as well. Someone in my house (who shall not be named or identified) already creates so much chaos even after having a proper enclosure, I cannot imagine the water situation in this case. There will probably water everywhere and will take a day to mop everything away. :ROFL: :ROFL:

I saw a pic of a shower without any frame, in the middle of a room! Quite interesting! Shower comes directly through the roof!

Wet rooms do have their place, but the size of your bathroom tends to steer away from that idea really.

Showers in house in UK had the shower trays. Brand new house (built 2005) . God they were problematic. Leaks (under the waste outlet ) due to tray sort of floating in air, etc etc.

Prefer proper floor made of mosaic or other tiles you get nowadays. Less problems.

Wetroom like those bathrooms in Italy? No thanks for me. Feels super unhygienic for me IMHO

Have you thought of a wet bathroom? My parents in law has one for my father in law’s bathroom (yes they have his and hers separate bathrooms) and it’s pretty awesome. I’ll see if I can sneak a photo some time

It’s actually very clever, although you do need a large space for it to work.

Water flows are all channeled to concealed drains and it’s a breeze to clean - my father in laws entire bathroom can be sprayed down - there’s a yacht style hose for that very purpose as well

I don't see why it needs a large space for it to work? I can understand that it will look good in large spaces but to make it work, all you need is a good drainage system?

In a small space the water goes everywhere and you still need to deal with condensation.
Regardless of how far away you put your toilet from the shower, in that space you'll still be wiping water and/or condensation off the walls, toilets and ceiling each time you shower.

Go open plan with an en-suite bathroom. No doors or walls, walk-in shower in the centre.

Hey knowledgeable MyBB DIYers. I have a water hammer type noise that makes the pipes squeal when some taps (especially the furthest away ones) are opened just a bit. Similar for when the toilet cistern is filling.

This is not a banging noise when the tap is opened/closed but rather a continuous droning noise.

Is the solution a pressure regulating valve? If so installed where?

I would check all taps for leaks first
 
Anyone know where to get spare parts for a sprung roller blind? I.e. the kind you pull the blind down and it jumps back up (not the beads down the side kind).
Have a perfectly fine blind but the pull / spring thingy is a mess - i.e. doesn't go back up half the time... Or when it goes it shoots up then stops half way...

Just want to replace that one springy part... But seem to only find them from China? (Or companies pretending to be SA but actually say 30 days shipping... I.e. they are buying from China!)

I have a similar issue in my one bathroom and its blerry annoying, but I'm leaving it largely because I know it will be fixed when I redo the bathroom and simplify the retarded plumbing the previous owners did.
