personally I actually hate the nova remotes I slapped sherlo receivers in everything and have a single 6 button remote for everything

Replying to this to share something I learned that was usefull.
You only need as many buttons on a remote as you have recievers in the same location. If you only ever have one reciever you can program everything onto the same button.
You only need two buttons if say for example you have your alarm and garage door recievers close enough together that if you used one button you would trigger both at the same time.
Another example is you can use your one blue button for your alarm at home, office and factory and the one single red button for alarm panic at all those locations and you could use say the green button to open garage doors at 3 different locations.

I would check all taps for leaks first

Sorry I don't follow. I don't have any leaky drippy taps when closed (if that's what you mean).

I should mention that the section that is prone to this droning is a bathroom we added as part of an extension... So copper pipes tied into the existing galv piping.

I have heard of hammers being caused by the tiniest of leaks causing a small suction leak when another tap is turned on resulting in the pulsing of water in the pipe.

yeah i get that but even with the standard receivers most average homes will pick up the receiver from almost anywhere on the property just about, the standard sherlo i think is 150m. the multiple sites though I agree with it can be handy in certain situations.

How do I clean green mould that seems to be embedded in some areas of marbleite pool that despite scrubbing, sometimes will not budge at all. Its a new thing for me - in the last two months. Using nylon brush and despite all my power, some areas stay dark green.

Water is crystal clear.

Walk in showers are the biggest load of bullsh1t. I have 3. When I bought the place I immediately had a door installed on the main bedroom walk in shower. The water sprays all over the floors. Cold wind/draft always on you etc.

I agree if you design it as a long one with the entrance one side and the shower head on the other side the water spraying is not too bad.

I would swear my main en-suite is nearly 100sqm with the retarded way the previous owner built it and kitted it out.

I can literally stand in the middle of the room and swing a cat around and not hit anything at all.

On the cards for this year to be remodeled and split the room into a dressing room and bathroom.

yeah. We used to stay in a 90sq meter house and it would have been rather big if it was only one room. TB is probably too rich or hasn't recovered from the NYE binge yet.

Nah it's not actually that big... It's about 5 x 5 but it's still retardedly large for a bathroom.

5 x 5 bathroom is really cool man, like a double garage. Just because most of us are used to 2.5x3.5 bathrooms or way less, it doesn't mean that is the "standard" size. Just renovate it and share - I am sure it will look awesome & elegant considering its size.

Trust me... It's actually overkill.
I'm going to shrink it to the 2.5x5 type of size so I can have a nice luxurious dressing room as well.

Sorry for the slight necro on this...
Had exactly the same problem here (pulling up carpets because son has dust allergy).

Scraper and heat for big lumps works, but to get it finished you need to dissolve the glue.

We still haven't found a good solution:
Things we have:
- more heat (including air.gun, and infra red heater held close) & scraping... Just too much effort / hot awkward work
- steam and boiling water, doesn't work
- vegetable oil, left to penetrate definitely makes the glue soft, but still hard to remove. Going to try coconut oil next (recommended for sticker glue removal?)
- DONT DO - Xylene / paint thinner... It works (and also strips the varnish off the floor) BUT also you don't be able to use the room for 3 months despite constant ventilation, heating, mopping... and it will permanently have a sweet smell that will slowly kill you!?!

So... Any advice on:
1. Cleaning up bituminous glues (as OP)
2. Removing Xylene residue once and for all...

Thanks for the feedback. I ended up buying the product below from Builders and used a spray bottle to apply it to the areas of the floor with glue, let it sit for 10 min or so and then I scrapped it off. I got most of the glue off. There were some stubborn patches where I removed as much as possible but it wasn't an issue for the installation of the new floor.

The product is expensive for the amount I needed. Had to buy 2 cans for a 10m2 space so it's not a cheap solution unfortunately. It did have a fairly strong smell but went away after a day or so and there's no smell now.

Almost finished with my DIY flooring installation. It was a mission - much more than I expected it to be. Still need to add the quarter round (I couldn't get the skirting boards off). Then I have 2 more bigger rooms to do...

I learnt alot in the process that will help me with the next rooms though.
