Can anyone spot the problem here(aside from the shoddy pipe connections):

If you guessed a missing vent, congratulations.. for the longest time I couldn't figure out why the toilet is not flushing properly and today, as I looked at the water pushing up in the bowl while flushing, I realized that there is nowhere for air to go.. opened the access cover on the elbow and flushed.. rather unsurprisingly, the toilet flushed like a dream..

Onto my question then, any chance you get an access plate and vent in one..? Hoping this is a thing, as a temp solution..

I don't have the money to fix this properly, which is going to require breaking into the wall to get the connection of the elbow to remove it.. considering that effort, I might as well then also have the bottom of the pipe fixed properly as well, which means more concrete breaking etc..
If there is enough space between the access cover and wall to fit this clamp then you can fit a section of pipe and a vent. The rubber gasket in the should allow for some flexibility to align the vent pipe with the wall.

Morning. I want to take off my old kitchen tops and replace with postform tops BUT:
These old tops are fixed to the cupboard sides with some weird old bracket. Anyone seen this ?
How the hell do you get the top off ? Moer with a hammer from the bottom ?

What happens when you remove the screw..? Does the thing come out..?

Can't get the screw out. It's tight as dassiekak and there's no handspace (About 2cm from top)

I did manage to press the top upwards by 2mm and could see a pin (drawn in pic)

Is it one of those titus cam style fittings, similar to this: https://www.gelmar.co.za/titus-system-6-expando-knock-in-housing-with-cam.html

Will have a threaded locking pin on the counter part that it cam's into and the screw should turn either way to loosen the cam lock.

Bit off topic, but what are the pros and cons of postform tops? I also need to replace counters in my kitchen.

the pin should be actuated by the smaller hole, put a flat screwdriver in it and give it a quarter/half turn anti-clockwise

I did stick a small flat in there but didn't feel that it "bit". Will try and get a light into that hole to see what is inside.

Biggest con is susceptible to water damage where the edges are exposed and water can get there.. it's chipboard with a plastic polymer on top essentially.. the moment water gets to the chipboard, it's done for..

Other than that, it's pretty good value for money.. scratch resistant, heat resistant(still shouldn't put a hot pot or pan straight on top of it) doesn't absorb smells..

Another question. I'm looking at tiles. 350mm x 350mm. There's 17 in a box that's supposed to cover 2squares.

Htf ? Should be 18 tiles ?

I get you. Now put those 17 tiles on the floor - 1 x 2m. Show me.
Yeah that's not how they sell it. They're selling you 2m^2 worth of tiles, you're going to have to cut it to fit your space.

How would they sell 2m^2 worth of tiles to fit a circular room? Everyone's spaces are different...

True. I assume (Kak mistake) that 2m^2 of tiles will cover 2m^2 exactly.

Edit. Who's got a circular room ? Only those afraid of ghosts - so they can't get cornered.

1m x 2m is not the only way to get 2m²...

0.5m x 4m also works, as does 1.4m x 1.4m (roughly) as well as an infinite number of other ways (including non-rectangular options)

Your kak assumption was that 2m² is only a 1m x 2m rectangle
