Oh I know that.. and its a huge problem with people dumping next to the road... Even on the road leading up to the "transfer sites" that hold all the skips.
 
I have used the one at Linbro for building rubble, I have found the trick is to be super friendly and they will allow you to dump whatever you want.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I will do so.

They are actually my garden service but I noticed on their social media that they do a whole bunch of stuff and their work looks really good. The guy also gave me a quote the next morning after I requested it in the afternoon. Good guys. If their work is worth recommending after they done I will share it here.
 
Slowly starting to take shape... the garden is slightly less of a bomb site now

So much better than the tiny ass splash pool the previous owners put in nearly 20 years ago... so many random things they did on the property that just make sweet fek all sense.

Stupid question:- Why are you filling your pool with all the work that still needs to be done around it, e.g. coping, paving,etc?

Is it because it's a fibreglass pool and you need to stretch it before filling in the sides ,etc?

The weight of the water compacts the dirt under the pool, helping it to settle.. if you fill up only after all the work is done, the pool will sink below whatever coping/edging you have done..

Ohhhh! Assuming it's impossible to do the same for the concrete/marbelite pools.

Disclaimer: just spent 3 minutes going through various scenarios writing this post trying to think it through.

As @WAslayer says, the water helps compact the soil somewhat and settles the pool, but also it helps even out the pressures from the soil outside and protect the shell from buckling.
 
Moved into a new place and over the last year a few of the door handles start coming loose. I have previously used a wood filler to screw the handle back which is good for 2-3 months then they start coming loose again. Any better solution to try ?

Maybe wood glue dowelsticks in the holes ?

Wood filler is never going to last.. drill the holes out to the next biggest size wood dowel available (if existing holes are 6mm, drill to 8mm and use 8mm dowel rod) and glue the wood dowels in the hole, drill new pilot holes for the screws and you are set for the next 20 years..

Agree with the dowels, in a pinch I was taught a trick many years ago to fill the hole with matches/toothpicks, it will give the woodscrew something to bite into again.
