I need some guidance.

The wire for our house's outbuilding, a separate standing garage, was run under ground without conduit. I don't know how many owners ago this was, but this cable was damaged in the past and when it rain enough (happens every winter in CPT), then that causes the earth leakage to trip. Then I have to turn off the outbuilding breaker and can get the whole house back online.

So my plan is to re-run a new cable. This time I won't run it through the garden (underground run of at least 90m) along the property line etc (silly IMHO), but instead run it through the roof like all the other wiring, and then use the shortest route underground between the 2 buildings which will only be 3m underground and inside conduit.

I will run the wire myself then get an electrician to connect over to the new wire in both DBs in each building. The reason for this, I will be running some other networking cables too myself so may as well get the cable there ready. I also already have new empty conduits between the 2 buildings.

The breaker in main house for outbuilding is 20A.
The DB in outbuilding has a main-switch of 20A, a plugs breaker of 20A and a lights breaker of 10A. Very simplistic.

What I need to know, what is the correct wire size I need to buy for this, so that it is legal. Should I go with 2.5mm or 4mm?

Many thanks in advance!

I would personally go 6mm, but otherwise go for 4mm minimum.

Need some advice for planting gum poles in the ground, I will put some gravel in the bottom of the holes to promote drainage in the hole but what is the best thing to coat the part of the pole that is in the ground? Also just creosote? For that matter what is the best thing to paint the above ground parts (its a jungle gym) that looks good, protects the wood for long and doesn't transfer to things touching it?

Just use already treated poles..

As for painting, oil based exterior timber paint is what you want to use..

Chap that built my kids jungle gym suggested we use Silkwood Oil as treatment. One coat every 2-months for the 1st 6-months and then twice a year for the next 2-years. Top up as needed after that. Daughter went with me to Chamberlains to choose the 'color' of the Silkwood and it works like an absolute bomb!

I have poles in good condition I am reusing, there were treated from new obviously but i just want to do what i can now to prolong their life.

I see bumblebees are making nice Holes in the wooden supports.

Would painting them with creosote here solve the problem as a perspective vendor suggested. IMG_20220821_140125.jpg

Sure those are not borer beetles? also creosote will help

I think you need a "top up" every few years anyway, we had similar issues noticed it early on treated no issues for the last 4 or so years.

Evening ,

my centurion D5 Evo suddenly stopped halfway or rather within 1 meter and I tried to firstly check nothing on its rails etc.
..I did put white garage grease on the rails a few weeks back overthinking..
.1...I did inspect the motor , serial indicates last check 2010 according to the sticker..
2..I've been only living in the current house less than 2 years..so cnt say check battery..dnt have a multi meter check.
3. I foolishly checked youtube and reset the motor ,which was accepted ,thereafter I tried again and said eeprom failure.
4.battery light seems full I'll post pic.
5. when I press the remote button only one click and then board shuts down and advises I must switch off power or wait 1 minute....

dnt know what's happening maybe the battery indent know

thanks
