I've just recently moved into a new place and we in the process of remodelling the kitchen.
Question for anyone who can assist, where is the plug socket for the dishwasher supposed to go or can it be installed in the cupboard under the sink, as the dishwasher will be installed next to the sink cupboard?

I put ours just behind where the dishwasher was, it was under a counter.
The cupboard under the sink should be OK though, but your electrician will be able to advise whether that's compliant with the standards?
We put one of those little 10L kwikot geysers under out sink, the plug was in the cupboard just to the left of the sink, not directly under it. So I can't really answer the question for certain.

Found two more broken off rodding eyes - not getting a plumber out to do them - what is the best way to attach new ones - just cut the pipe, clean it a bit - sand a bit - and PVC Weld - pop on the rodding eye?

We put ours behind the dishwasher - I'd guess there is probably a regulation against plug points directly under a source of water in case of leaks and shorting.

So a cornice is starting to get loose from the ceiling in the bathroom. Can I just use tough as nails or whatever to stick it back or do I have to buy that cornice glue? What is so special about it? Had a whole 5l bucket that I bought last year which I gave to a contractor. #Idiot

I was cleaning the mould on the ceiling and this happened. What is the easiest way to fix this other than sticking a piece of white paper ?

When an electrician broke my ceiling, he had a buddy patch it up with rhino-lite (spelling?) and then after it dried we sanded lightly and painted over it. It looked OK in the end, if I didn't know it was there I probably wouldn't notice it.

For normal ceilings it's fine; but it should not be used in bathrooms where there is a high moisture content. OP mentioned mould so I'm guessing that's where it was ?

It's in the bedroom. The insulation in the roof was blown out of position and so certain parts on the ceiling was colder than the rest and water was condensing on it, and hence the mould.
It's been raining a lot in cape town, I am leaving the windows open during the day but it's still not enough for the moisture to evaporate.

Look on Instagram for Duarte painters
Came to ask the same.

Any recommendations for good reasonably priced painters?
The quotes I get vary wildly so I have no idea what's a fair price

Ideally if I could get someone privately to quote me and do the work?

Noticed some mould starting to build up in the bathroom on the ceiling and cornices. Is it necessary to remove the mould or can I just paint over it with an anti-mould product?

I'd be interested to know the answer to this too.

people at builders said, clean and paint over.
But I will say clean with bleach, wipe it with vinegar and leave it to dry for a day or two before painting over.

Incidentally, is this product or something like it available in South Africa?

You should do everything you can to kill and remove the mould...

I would use bleach, then some more bleach and then a decent household cleaner and follow up with sugar soap...

You need to kill the mould and clean before painting.. there are a few products available for killing and cleaning mould..

Once clean and properly dry, paint with Dulux bathroom+ which has mould inhibitors..

You also want to look at ventilation in your bathroom, as condensation does not have time to dry and allows mould to grow..
