The iOS 11 Thread/Discussion

They've replaced so many iPhone batteries they could probably do it in their sleep and you don't think they know what they're doing?

Batteries are a simple job, any muppet should be able to do it.

Yes, they misaligned my camera. Mistakes happen. I took it back within 5 minutes and they fixed it

This is the kind of common issues. They seem to always be in a super rush and working against the clock which ends up with an inevitable return or other replacement.

Cocking up the proximity sensor and not testing it properly. Or in your case camera not aligned (and obviously not tested etc).

One in four iDevices already runs iOS 11

Apple’s latest iOS 11 was released on September 19 and over 25% of the iUsers switched in the first week. The numbers came from analytics platform Mixpanel. The adoption rate is slower than iOS 10 last year, which reached 37% in six days.

Adoption of iOS 11 stood at 12% 24 hours after its release and it's gaining 2-3% per day throughout the first seven days, eventually reaching 26.57%.

Today numbers are actually lower at 23.6% due to numerous complaints about bugs. Apple answered woes with releasing an update we told you about earlier today.

It is worth noting that Mixpanel is a third party analytics company and data may not be 100% accurate. We'll know for sure when Apple delivers the official numbers.

iOS 11.0.1 fixes email sending issue with Office, Outlook & Exchange accounts

Released yesterday, iOS 11.0.1 fixed a problem with the Mail app where Outlook.com, Office 365 and Exchange customers would see their messages rejected by the server.

As confirmed in official support documents posted yesterday by both Microsoft and Apple, updating to iOS 11.0.1 or later fixes this annoying problem.

iOS 11.0 users whose accounts are hosted by Microsoft on Outlook.com or Office 365 or an Exchange Server 2016 running on Windows Server 2016 were seeing an error message when trying to send an email, saying “Cannot Send Mail. The message was rejected by the server.”

If you were affected, let us know in the comments if updating to iOS 11.0.1 fixed it for you.

Hmmm wonder if that includes developer and Beta accounts that were already on GM at launch.

I doubt it.

iOS 11.1 Beta 1, 3D Touch and Home button lag still present, however overall the OS feel a lot smoother and more fluid.

Except for the mail issue, I still don't know what else has been fixed in 11.0.1. That said, the only issue I really had, was No Service, after the iOS11 and 11.0.1 update, but restarting my phone solved this.

My Bedtime alarm is not working. It sometimes works and sometimes only shows a notification without making a sound. I went to check if it was set correctly and found you can actually turn the time around into 24 hours:

Now, it was set correctly but let's see if just resetting it helps. A wakeup alarm not waking you up is kind of annoying.

Do you go to bed at 18:25? :O Also, when you set bedtime, do you still need to set an alarm for the mornings?

Nope, I’m skeptic. I had that 6s “fixed” before from them. They changed the battery once and replaced the screen that I accidentally cracked. Now it suffers from extreme slow down, freezing, crashing, boot loops etc. I’v tried reinstalling iOS. DFU restore, everything I can possibly think of. It must be a hardware error and perhaps they didn’t do such a good job at fixing it last time that they messed it up more. The latest feedback I got from them today was that they cannot reproduce the error and therefore it’s fine according to them.

In any case I will be getting the iPhone X for myself and my wife. Just need to get that fixed in the meantime my

I don't think that is specific to wefix though. My 50/50 was with Apple doctor.

Thing is that those batteries aren't 'just' batteries - they interact with logic boards / chips and sometimes the fault lies there - sadly, those things fall into the category of 'beyond economic repair'

As always, YMMV

The quality of WeFix screens is also definitely not Apple-level and quite inferior. Quite possibly why they've been pushed to get rid of the iFix name and not pretend to be official.

Despite telling me they get their components from Core, the screen they installed on my 5s was so dodgy. Since then I replaced my screen with one half the price from China Mall and its much better.

Oh? Maybe a restore or a reset then, there haven’t been many reports of issues so likely something wrong with your install.

Sadly seems like the only way. Apple Music is just rendering my phone useless when I open it...happened after I downloaded some albums. :erm:

Okay finally figured it out, I had a similar issue to this:

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6582735?tstart=0

Seems to have happened when the Apple Music was downloading and didn't sync properly afterwards, resulting in corrupted data. Had to install some weird application that allowed me to delete certain iTunes folders from the phone...what a mission.

Just have to resync my iCloud library now but at least everything is working again.
