The iPad 2 availabitiy thread

As far as I know, the Eastern Cape is not authorised to sell Apple products - why, I have no idea. That means the iPad2 (or iPad1, for that matter) isn't here and isn't going to come here until that changes. Time for a trip to the Mother City, methinks...

That's ridiculous!!

Try DigiCape. I got one from them yesterday. They'll ship to JHB at no additional charge.

:D Went to Canal walk I-Store this morning 9:00 on a whim, told the salesperson I know all the Ipad 3G's are sold out, but when do they expect stock? He told me he'll go and check, came back and told me they had 2 white ones available, one 32GB and one 64GB. When I left they only had the 32GB 3G Ipad left in stock ......

When I saw this I thought it was a joke. But it's now clear that some outlets were actually restocked yesterday in the afternoon and early in the morning today. This was the case with Vodaworld in Midrand (6 units) and Incredible Connection Menlyn in Pretoria (20 units), if what I was told is anything to go by. Even Incredible Connection Woodmead may have received some copies. Your experience and what I heard today confirm that phoning is not an option. Visit shops and you may be lucky to get there when they start selling the meager supplies.

Nope, no joke. The salesperson told me that it was two units that was held for someone. The guy didn't pitch, so they placed it back on sale.

Well I've just come back from Bali, Singapore didn't have any stock nor did they know when they would get again, apparently the batches they have recieved have been selling out within hours of arrival.

Same thing happened to me, except the **** at Pavillion IC phoned the guy who reserved it when he didn't come in at the deadline (when I was waiting for it) and he promised to come round and get it in the morning so they tried to sell me a 32gb version.

I have called all the IC again after reading this. No Stock and have not had 3G stock for sometime. No ETA

I did try Menlyn and the vodaworld branch's

Even the Istores have no ETA
