Asus has a utility that sorts out USB charging for the iPad. I' ve been using since February this year with now problems. Here's a link:
Asus AI Charger
I guess compared to Macs, PCs are indeed underpowered and just not capable of delivering. . . .Color me sceptical, but I cannot see how such a simple piece of software can bypass the current (amperage etc) limitations on USB ports... :erm:

BTW - even if it's saying "Not Charging" when you plug it into the PC, it is, just very, very slowly.

Thanks to this one I don't need to take or leave an extra charger at work. It's been a life saver over the last couple of months![]()
Installed the Asus AI charger... will see if it do make a difference or not.
It doesn't charge as fast as the normal iPad charger, but at least it now a person can charge on laptops and PCs![]()
Yep.
Still shows "not charging" but it did charge. Schweet.
Yay. Version 5 allows the creation of more than one PPTP VPN account.
Weird... Mine shows the normal charging icon. Did you restart the computer and everything. Well as long as it works![]()
Teamviewer (free) works a real treat on the iPad. I tested remote control of another windowsPC, no issues. You have a cursor which you can move round on the screen, and tap anywhere on the screen for a left click. Double-tap's supposed to do right-click, but it doesn't work with me. Instead, I used the right-click mouse icon, and that works.
It is great especially if you want to do remote support, but for remote work I'll prefer a proper laptop/notebook with proper mouse should it be serious stuff.
But the possibility is there.
