The ubiquitous LAN spreads to the WAN

The technology industry is such an interesting sector in which to play, particularly in our country, and once you’ve been around it for several years you do begin to realise, or at least recognise, one most entertaining fact.
 
I don't know how to pronounce "ubiquitous"

Huh? What is this exactly and whats being said? 30 Mb/s over 4Mb line...is that the story? Compression and stuff? Sounds like hyperbole and a punt of Telecoms 180 as a company into our minds...

My thoughts exactly. Nasty & confusing article.

The only interesting part ("deliver a whopping 30 Mbps over an existing 4 Mbps line!") is glossed over & no details given.

The person who wrote this article clearly has his terminology mixed up big time.
Does he even know the difference between LAN and WAN and what Ethernet means?

The one traditional concern with this network topology is the last-mile connectivity,
Why is this then a concern? You stated that a 4 Mbps line can be magically forced to deliver 30 Mbps, now how can the last mile then be a problem? Why do you now need fibre? Isn't 4 Mbps on copper = 4Mbps on fibre? Or are they lying about this service they deliver or did the guy who wrote the article not know how the technology works, ie, he is clueless as to how this service functions?

Like the others have said, a lot of blah blah mixed with nonsense.
