The LONMIN share price thread

No dude, this is day one. come back in three months. Then you look at the moola

I bought these with the idea of just forgetting about them. Might just get a nice post Christmas bail out from profit in Jan.

That's nice if you bought the share, some of us (me) bought the CFD so every cent movement gets hurts me heavily ( multiplied by 3)

44c now

Remember you recommendation to go in on CFDs. Explain them like I'm 5 please. See the option here..

Like I said before, many people will lose they investments. I cannot really see how any company, in this case especially Lonmin, can stand up against a corrupt government, falling economy, violent striking work forces, etc. Bad idea to invest in this. Good for those made a quick buck, but the ride is about to come to an abrupt end soon.

Loss 45.3% . I am getting out, Cutting my losses.

How much are we talking here? A couple of R100 or a couple of R1000. Hardly worth it to "cut your losses" if you end up losing R300.

A CFD is a contract for difference, using Lonmin as an example, on OST a contract is 27c (still is), each contract is based on the movement of one Lonmin share.

I bought a few thousand contracts when Lonmin was at 73c. So if the underlying (in this case Lonmin) moves by 5c either up or down then in my account the CFD moves around 15c in the same direction (73c divide by 27c multiplied by whatever movement the underlying made).

Makes sense?
