Na, I dont have that many shares. Still struggling to get my mind around the fact that the shares have a different value in the UK to here.

2 different listings.
One in SA is for the Lonmin Mine in SA.
Lonmin UK is for the Lonmin Company which is based in the UK. (Owners of the Lonmin Mine in SA)

Jeepers, LONMIN in nose dive of note.
Well it was 26 cents ZAR in SA JSE when it was trading for 1 pence GBP
Actually I am wrong the rights offer is 1 pence which is around 21 cents in ZAR I think
That's why I said, save moola and then buy at the sup 0.40 cents rate up until the rights offer cause the "true" price will only reflect after the rights issue
And since 1 pence is the lowest it can go you can use it as a guide

When is the expiry on your CFD or stop loss?
Because the share price will bottom out and then temporarily shoot back.
If you can hold the CDF till a few days after the rights issue then you will be a filthy rich man.
Personally I don't like or understand geared trading as good, but I do now that if you have a CFD in lonmin you will make a bonus in the short term.

I don't regret going the CFD route - I made quite a penny. But yah the latest drop is also hurting me, but I'm still very much in the positive.

What is the difference between CFD and buying shares on EE? Excuse all my noob questions please.
Contract For Differences, you predict the price and gains are exponential both sides of the scale
So you can loose more than your initial investment or make more too
You also need to pass credits checks I think, As you can loose way more than you invested.
If you invested R1000 and the price falls 100 points I think you then owe the broker R1000 x 100 something like that
Say, for example, that one contract of the South Africa 40 cash is worth R50 per point of movement in the underlying index. If you are long one contract on the SA 40, and the index rises by one point, that represents a R50 profit for you.
Similarly, say one full contract of EUR/USD is worth $10 per pip of movement in that currency pair. If you are short one contract on EUR/USD, and the price rises 1 pip, that represents a $10 loss for you.
Edit: my first part is a little un accurate regardign 1000 x 100, but still. Stay away if your a noob like me

Yes. CFD's ( leverage/geared trading ) is not for play, it's people who makes a living trading
I touched it once. made a penis of a loss, like I cried.
