The LONMIN share price thread

ps. For those guys reading this thread and thinking "What a bunch of fools!!"

This is a gamble and it turns out to be very educational.
I have learned a lot about share consolidation, rights offers,
how the market reacts to rights offers ect..... the list goes on if you read
through this entire 92 page thread.

I have gone to trading seminars and did a online course once. You do not learn these things there.

Paying R3400 for this education is totally worth it! And who knows, I might still even make a profit in the next few months :-)

^This

Especially since it's your own money so you tend to pay a little fck load more attention to stuff and take it in

Anything over 80c and I'll be selling.

I guess I'll be holding onto it for a while

Canceled my rights offer
Removed cash in acc
Will keep my normal shares till try to recover more

Same here. I am waiting for this!!

PM, EMail, call, etc.

@GTXGaming - Whatsapp me or something if the price goes above 40 cents and I am not in this thread

Guys, I think you should all look at the facts.

I think most investors already cancelled their rights offer. No one would take this up while the share price is hovering between 20c and 22c. This means that Lonmin will not generate their 400m+ required to keep the company afloat for the next 3 years as intended. Over and above this, they already decided to scale down on operations and close down certain wings of their business.

Since yesterday, the share price has been in a fall. Not at one point in time did it rise. Today the same.

The big trades you see are bigger investors selling off. Those buying are the small, uninformed people who still think the price will rise.

I am giving Lonmin no longer than the next 2 weeks to delist.

What you failed to mention is that they are doing this to close down the non-profitable shafts and reduce expenses. Somewhat relevant, dont you think?

I doubt that any investor would take the rights issue now.

Now only to hope that the PIC has that kind of money to throw at Lonmin. Because, if they don't, the only thing they can do to look at the communities where Lonmin operates, is to close Lonmin down and give mining rights to another company who can try to employ as much people as they can as to affect the community as little as possible.

Either which way, even if PIC pumps money into Lonmin, I think they may suggest the company to delist before they pump this money in.

What's more relevant is the 100,000 loss in ounces they could have produced by 2017. Now turn that into monetary losses and you may see why many large investment companies are of the opinion that Lonmin will not succeed.

Well, I'm glad Toothless is here with all his negativity/realism, to cancel out all Thor's optimism. It brings balance :P

dude I totally hear you, and agree (to some extent) to what you saying. All I ask is that you include all the details from both sides of the coin. The move to close down certain operations is an effort to get things going again, it's not a "ok lets just close everything coz we screwed" approach. Someone there has a plan. Well that is my hope anyway ;)
