The Mazda CX-5 Thread

I just bought the dynamic, the car ticks almost all the boxes, which is not bad when you consider my previous car was a merc c class.

The power initially was quite concerning but it appears to be loosening up nicely. The car likes to be revved which is something I need to get used to again.

I might be slammed for this but I feel the interior is of a much nicer feel and look than my outgoing w204 merc.

Engine noise is quite a bit more intrusive. Gearbox is infinitely more responsive. Gadgets are more modernized, similar, but less intuitive.

The cruise control is quite a disappointment, it does not brake on downhills and lets the vehicle run away.

One highlight is it notifies on SMS’s which I could only get the mercy to do when I still had a blackberry which was years ago. Voice commands are magic. Small thing but nice for me.

Cars do this? Both my Fiesta ST and Stepway didn't do this...

Hey chaps,

Need some assistance in 2x 2016 Mazda CX-5 model. Individual Auto vs Active Auto
Biggest difference is the mags and leather of the individual.

Any other big differences and does the price difference justify.

Mind is set now on getting one.

Any other tips and head ups will be appreciated.

What about the engine? The individual is a 2.5ltr and the Active is 2.0ltr. What are the prices of the 2 you are looking at?

Is the 2.5ltr better then the 2.0ltr or is it more heavy on fuel. I suspect it will obviously be more responsive too. Since they all NA models, are they sluggish or is the technology much better.

My price range is between 250k - 320k max

I know Mazda gives you 3year unlimited warranty, service plan and roadside assistance. Also free original parts replacements when bought via dealer. How much does their service or maintenance costs after warranty and service plans have completed

Here is a 2.2 Diesel. I know the KMs are very high, but with unlimited KM warranty and service plane, is that really an issue? Maybe look at getting extended warranty and service plan as well?

Is the diesel more powerful then the manuals. Are the Km's really unlimited? If so, why then do they have a 3 year warranty, service and roadside assistance. What would you consider a decent mileage for 300k.
I would prefer the diesel autos tbh.

Mazda SA expands CX-5 range, upgrades 2,5-litre to AWD

Mazda Southern Africa has made a couple of changes to its CX-5 range, adding a new front-wheel-drive derivative and upgrading the lone 2,5-litre model to all-wheel drive.

The local line-up now comprises eight derivatives – up from the seven at launch in May 2017 – with the new front-wheel-drive, 2,0-litre Individual automatic coming in at R480 700, putting it somewhere near the middle of the range. The naturally aspirated 2,0-litre petrol engine still makes 121 kW and 210 N.m.

Standard features on this new variant include eight-way power-adjustable front seats, a 10-speaker Bose sound system, parking sensors (front and rear), a head-up display (projecting information onto the windscreen), satellite navigation and a powered tailgate.

The 2,5-litre model (also in Individual spec), meanwhile, now features all-wheel drive as standard, and furthermore gains a tilt-and-slide powered sunroof. However, the upgrade sees the price of this model increase from R500 600 to R543 800.

These two models, as well as both diesel derivatives, feature an array of safety systems as standard, including lane departure warning, smart city brake support, lane keep assist, driver attention alert, adaptive LED headlamps and blind spot monitoring.

All models come with a three-year/unlimited kilometre warranty and a three-year/unlimited kilometre service plan.
