The Mazda CX-5 Thread

Hi guys, its robably not the correct group and stuff, but I've got the previous gen cx5, 2015 with the MZD connect touch screen, can the AA be retro fit to this device...? Or is the there thread about the previous gen, so I can read up myself....?
Yeah I also have the pre facelift. It's identical in fact it's easier since your usb port is in front. Go for it!

Thanks, I went to Mazda Neslpruit yesterday, the kit is available, but the price is eye watering at R2,9k, plus I wanted the their auto lock of the doors function since my doesn't have. So, the total price is just shy of R4,5k. So, yah!!! Its steep!!!!

I was told by the dealer that they do it, (Auto-Lock). The R4,5k includes all the installation as well. I'm thinking of doing it myself as well... I saw the video on the install, it does not look bad...

Please send me the link to the video I'll do mine next week if they have stock and we can exchange tips

I'm trying to make up my mind between the 2.2D active and the 2.0 dynamic. Any suggestions?

Depends what you are looking for in terms of features. I went for the Individual over the Dynamic as I wanted the front and rear PDC. I haven't seen the interior of an Active but the Dynamic really feels luxurious.
The 2.2D will definitely have more oomph over the 2.0.

The active has cloth seats, loses the keyless entry, power folding mirrors. Mainly want it for that engine and fuel economy. It also comes with 17'' instead of the 19's.

Dynamic is nice, but not too sure about the punchy-ness of the 2.0 NAS. Coming from a Corolla, so anything is actually an upgrade.

A demo diesel goes for about 430k, vs a new dynamic for about the same.

I'd go for a demo Dynamic then

I've also done the AA upgrade on mine so it cant be that. The upgrade is simply plugging in a new usb port can't be related. Only thing the dealers probably did different to my self install is that they would have unplugged the battery(silly really but the dealer instructions will want that). That might have reset your fuel economy memory, mine didn't because I never unplugged my battery. But your economy will return to normal once you log enough kms.

But saying the usb cables give you terrible fuel economy is like saying when they play a new Taylor Swift song on the radio your tyres deflate.

I definitely didn't mean that the USB cables change my fuel eco, it was the reset, even my saves seating positions were reset.

Does anyone know if the latest 2019 Akera spec now includes Adaptive Cruise Control?
Or is it still old school standard version?

Knowing that the 0-100 time for the >2018 twinscroll 140kW diesel has been incorrect all along at 9.5 seconds, I don't trust the brochure.

I would speak to the dealer about that, I thought the 2018 model would have included the adaptive cruise control. Just from browsing the video, if you look at the mazda badge its got like a glass over it, on mine its almost 3d like the badge sticks out. It's hard to explain but yeah if you can see if the badge looks like this then it should have adaptive, its different because the radar is in the badge.

That's the give away. They disconnect the battery for every little thing

Also, it seems the range is slowly increasing, I've done 250km now since that post with the range pictures and it now says 300 odd km range left, so it's getting up there slowly!

This is the non adaptive badge, you can see there’s gaps in it.

Oh the biggest thing to look for is probably the addition of two multi function buttons on the right side of the steering wheel. If it has adaptive it will have a mode button

Thanks. Yes the '3D' vs 'glass' badge was initially also my assumption, but I then realised that the same radar used for Automatic Brake would most likely also support the Adaptive Cruise. Now we all know that auto-braking is definitely included in SA for Akera and some other spec-levels prompting the glass badge, yet the auto/radar guided cruise was still omitted from the 2018 facelift - I test drove the new spec Akera last year specifically looking for this.
I was hoping that the 2019 version would include it.

The steering wheel should indeed have this button:Capture.PNG

If the front badge doesn't have the glass then it does not have adaptive cruise control.
