At the limits of your own self preservation that is.

But I know of plenty that have been crashed in the hands of okes who thought they could drive.

That RWD without any safety features will bite you quick quick.

Ex-buddy of mine wanted to take my MK2 MX-5 for a spin a few years ago.
Being the diktril poser he is, he accelerated out of a corner and by the time the LSD kicked in it was all over in a split second.

I still cringe thinking back at the aftermath sight of an MX-5 that went sideways over a pavement...
I'm still paying off my second MX-5 :cry:

I have troubles on FWD. :crylaugh: Didnt ever try to push it to the limit. Would not even try on a public road. Maybe a closed race track, lots of pactice and spare wheels.
 
A common criticism of the Mazda MX-5 is its relative lack of power. So Britain-based tuner BBR has worked its magic on the naturally aspirated 2,0-litre engine to give it a little bit more of an edge.

Thanks to some ECU tuning; a high-performance billet steel intake and exhaust camshafts with upgraded valve springs and retainers; a bespoke four-into-one stainless steel exhaust manifold; and a specially developed cold air intake system; BBR was able to push the MX-5’s power output to 153 kW and 244 N.m.

With this increase of 35 kW, the already-lightweight roadster will be able to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 5,65 seconds.

Handling has also been revised, with the fitment of the tuning house’s optional pack, which includes Koni adjustable dampers, Eibach adjustable anti-roll bars and a Willwood four-piston front brake caliper upgrade to make it sharper and more agile in the corners.

BBR is also offering peace of mind with 12- to 36-month extendable warranty packages.

Prices for these packages start from £2195 (around R41 000), excluding VAT…

If I had the money to do I would go full retard and have a 12A P-Port FI rotary built and swapped in there. Obviously ditch all of the electronic nannies and throw in a solid 2-Way limited slip and an older MX5 gearbox and lighten it a little more...and drive it every single day because I hate myself.
 
Tried to test drive the new MX5 last week. I am 6'4" I do not fit. My knees were completely into the dash and I pretty much would have struggled to drive it out the door. Never had that problem before except for sitting in an old Ford GT40...

I'm guessing you had the roof down. My son is of similar height, he can't fit in with the roof up.....
 
First of all 6'4" isn't a measurement it's an emoji. Also you have no business getting in a MX5, it simply wasn't designed for abominable snowmen
