The Middle East Conflict Thread

You wouldn't consider groups of people beating up,bullying and torturing to be extremists?

no im just saying that there arent too many of them in the world...

and when they do, do something they shouldnt be doing, the israeli government locks them up and punishes them accordingly..

Yeah... you keep on milking the propaganda coming from the west(look at who owns most of the western media including Hollywood).

What happened to the settler who shot an unarmed Palestinian and was caught on Video by btselem?

Interesting quote

We ask no favours of the enemy. We seek from them no compunction. On the contrary, if tonight our people were asked to cast their vote whether a convention should be entered into to stop the bombing of cities, the overwhelming majority would cry, "No, we will mete out to them the measure, and more than the measure, that they have meted out to us."

Winston S. Churchill

I reckon all media is manipulated no matter if it is hollywood, bollywood, arabic, jewish or Murgarbage.

Gaza attack akin to war crimes

December 28 2008 at 02:02PM

Israel's bombardment of Gaza "bears all the hallmarks of war crimes", Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu said in a statement on Sunday.

"In the context of total aerial supremacy, in which one side in a conflict deploys lethal aircraft against opponents with no means of defending themselves, the bombardment bears all the hallmarks of war crimes."

The attacks, in retaliation for rockets fired by the Palestinians, would not contribute to the security of Israel, he said.

"It is a blight not only on the Middle East, but on the entire world - and particularly world leaders who have consistently failed the people of Palestine and Israel over the past 60 years."

About 270 people were killed in the attacks on Saturday. - Sapa

Tutu has said this before about Israeli attacks on Gaza. Let us hope that one day the perpetrators of war crimes on both sides get brought before a court.

Civilian Casualties???

I'm sorry... but I don't buy that.

If Hamid next door to me is launching 200 rockets a day toward Israel... you can bet your bottom dollar that I am hightailing it out of there. I know the Israeli defence force is taking note of where he lives and that he now has a fat target painted on his roof.

What in the seven hells am I still doing living there with my children and pets when I know there is a 99% chance he is about to get the stuffing bombed out of him.

These are not civilian casualties... these are the wives and families of the aggressors and they deserve everything they get.

You want to play with fire... you get burned/bombed/maimed/dead.

Israel bombed the Islamic university in Gaza, it was not being used for rocket attacks AFAIK and there may be civilians injured in that attack.

I suggest you take your bigotry somewhere else.

Since when do you take seriously the words of a warmonger

After all he wants to bomb the poor Zimbabweans who have no means of defending themselves besides it seems a few weather balloons :o

Yes because reasonable Hamas would never sink so low as too use a university to launch rockets

I know that Tutu is a respected man, seen as a father-figure by most people. I just don't see why he retired as the Arch-Bishop of the Anglican Church. I think he was good at that job. He is clearly not good as a political commentator.

According to him you either vote ANC or you don't at all

I just think he should be above politics, because he is embarrassing if not himself, then those who love and respect him. No-one has a monopoly on knowledge: Just because you are good at religious matters it does not mean you are also automatically good at politics.

To Arch: Please retire from politics.
