At home, we’ve seen a minister far more preoccupied with a spat with the Sunday Times than anything else.
...and ordering highly customised BMW 7-series'

Problem in this country is that all the wrong people are reading articles like this....

Pule really was the pits - incompetent and corrupt, what a combination.Any replacement can only be an improvement.
The fact that spectrum allocation has been delayed for 3 years pretty much sums it up.Really boggles the mind.

I've stated many times here that this info should be broadcast on every Black radio station in every township & free media stating same should also be distributed in every township & informal settlement throughout SA!

That is why internet and broadband penetration are so vitally important. The more people that have proper access the more people are informed. The more informed people are the less propaganda works.

And the longer the ANC stays in power.

More recently, proactive regulators in Angola, Namibia, Mauritius and Tanzania have meant that 4G networks were launched in these countries before South Africa

I don't know so much about Tanzania ... for one, I'm currently using a Tigo sim card in Oyster Bay in Dar Es Salaam, and I have absolutely no 3G signal ... but my Edge signal is relatively stable though (Actually works versus Cell C 3G :p)

Also, what is advertised here as 4G, is the same as 3.75G in SA ... i.e. Fast HSPA+.

My theory is that its a well executed plan by power mongers to retain said power. Hype up emotions with political rubbish, dividing the nation to its core by keeping racial tensions high. Not delivering essential education and protection to the people, repeating the cycle, intentionally to keep people from learning the reality of the state of our governance.

The ANC leads by typical "Mushroom" syndrome. Keep people in the dark and feed them shyte... They wont know any better and will keep voting them in power.

Yeah I think what everyone seems to be missing is that it serves government's (read the ANC) interest to keep telecoms costs high. So irrespective of who is Minister in the DOC we will not see any changes.

We used to have a leadership position on the continent.

Simple .. look at who was managing things then vs. who are managing things now. Communism doesn't breed competence like capitalism does.
