I'm sorry, but I am finding it extremely difficult to be positive about anything here.
That's because nothing of substance has actually been achieved yet.
It all sounds like hot air and "getting ready to do something..." talk.
And we have seen plenty of that from the previous chair warmers.

Please for the love of Pete show us something concrete?

At least the DOC is now communicating, which I think cannot be said of the previous ministers.

i understand the cynicism (and still share a healthy dose) but this guy is making a huge difference (stated from first-hand experience)

Sheesh, I was actually really impressed - actual deadlines for things actually being met, sure we are still very short on tangible deliverables, but the signs are really good. Previously a deadline to set a deadline couldn't even be met, so the standards are a tad low I suppose. It is great to get actual feedback with updates on things that have happened though:)

Colour me impressed, I just hope that Yunus Carrim finds a way of getting DoC employees to do their jobs without embarking on a go-slow and then a strike to get performance bonuses (like ICASA CWU employees have been doing).

One fears that if he really does get something tangible done in a short space of time, he will become a "Minister Without Portfolio".
Elections are soon... cabinet reshuffle will follow soon after the ANC wins

I've been watching them waffle about their 'plans' and 'deadlines' for ~15 years now, it's all just hot hair, they'll never do anything but obstruct progress.
