The MTN share price thread

Thank you ladies and gentlemen.

Avg purchase price R124

I am cashing in. Profit.

Finally some new on the fine.. time to cash in ...or hold on a bit

I cashed in.

As it was my goal.

However the rule got my attention.

If MTN lists on Nigeria as well.... Then that's a massive cash injection.

Also we might be getting some Nigerian ETFs on the JSE soon.

Vodacom is bound to SA borders, Vodafone prevents Vodacom from operating outside of SA.

Mozambique, DRC, Tanzania..all part of SA now are they?

BTW think you did the right move cashing out - that fine is really going to hurt the bottom line I would have though.

Those were part of Vodacom prior to Vodafone if memory serves. There a webinar on justonelap.com about the Vodacom Vodafone Africa thing. I'll see if I can find it.

Regarding the fine.

I don't think so, in fact this splitting over 3 years might actually help them since I am more than convinced they budgeted for that fine hence the weak sens etc. They are miss mananeged, but I don't think they're that stupid. Time will tell though.

Well well the hammer has fallen (excuse the pun Thor ;)). Although I would think there was some luck involved here, I would say a job well done Sir! :D

So you still sticking with the line...

Vodacom is bound to SA borders, Vodafone prevents Vodacom from operating outside of SA.

Even though I have proved that they not?

Would you like a spade for that hole?

From its roots in South Africa, Vodacom has grown its operations to include networks in Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique, and Lesotho and provides business services to customers in over 40 African countries such as Nigeria, Zambia, Angola, Kenya, Ghana, CĂ´te d'Ivoire, and Cameroon.

What is happening with mtn shares? They are just free falling it seems!

Not sure, I cashed mine in and moved into TAS and CCO

I think TAS will be a big upside in the next 2 years (disclaimer do your own research)

And as for CCO. Panic hits and property is the first to take a dive, so I'm buying CCO all the way as I believe it's price is just panic and uncertainty atm. Remember they still own all the property they have not lost anything it's just mass hysteria driving property prices and ability to sell down I think/believe.

So I'm a buy on TAS and CCO

It looks like MTN is paying a dividend this month end. Plus the talks of them listing in Nigeria seem certain to go through. Shares always drop when dividends are due. The listing must mean something for the value of the share. Perhaps they're splitting them to give a higher volume to make the price more attractive for investors in Nigeria?

I had a look at taste, but I need to research it some more.

They have taken quite a hit in recent months. I am also tempted. I think I might cut my losses with mtn and buy taste.

Hold MTN, they will recover, save up and then buy TAS. With TAS there is no rush it will be a while before the Starbucks ordeal reflects with profit there is no rush. imo
