The Mweb drop-outs are back.

Could you let us know what the problem was ?

Deveza; it seems there was an issue with the configuration on Telkom side, that was affecting the performance of our IPC link.
 
I have also been experiencing these today - I assumed my router was overheating due to the high temperatures and swapping ISPs from MWeb didn't help. Everything looks to be solved now :)
 
OK. I had problems and thought it was my line but I switched over to my Do broadband bandwidth and was able to play and browse fine but as soon as I switched back to Mweb I have all sorts of dropouts. It works fine for a while and then everything goes dead but I'm still connected according to my router.

Happens to me every now and again. Kicks me off Xbox Live too - maybe once or twice a day.

Our network is fine at the moment, please provide me your MWEB account details. Also, do you have filters on all your points being plugged into wall jacks?
 
Hmm... how does a loss of dns link to adsl filters ?

I'm not the only one this is happening to.

If it was filter related why only random drop-outs.

It's also not related to routers.

The next time it happens I'll try a trace and see where it falls over.

daveza, filters impact on noise on your line and can cause random disconnects.

I would lose connectivity for about a minute or so and then it would be fine again.

Happened to me less than 5 minutes ago.

I have all filters on my line :)

Good afternoon Markface, I have checked your account and the disconnects are not frequent.

Would you like to troubleshoot your connection?
 
How are you testing for ' disconnects ' ?

Telkom will confirm my line never stops syncing.

Our system will show when you loose sync with your MWEB account.

your line readings look fine at the moment and I cannot pick up any discreptancies there. You have advised that you have filters on all you points being plugged into wall jacks. Is there any noise on your analgue line?
 
This has been happening for me all day in Durban, but I am on Afrihost and a 6140/644 line.

My DSL light goes out, blinks then comes back on.
