A MAN from Cape Town is in hot water.

This comes after he allegedly set his pitbulls on police in the Delft area on Saturday, 18 January.

The Anti-Gang Unit, which was deployed to quell ongoing gang violence in the Cape Flats, was tipped off about a firearm at a certain house on Crusader Street. They went to the address and found 100 rounds of ammunition hidden inside a cupboard.

Officers then arrested the 37-year-old man who was at the premises. After interrogation and investigating, police proceeded to another address where they found a firearm, ammunition and drugs.

Police spokesman Malcolm Pojie said at the second address, pitbulls were set on the officers. Police had to use rubber bullets to stop the vicious dogs from attacking them.

BANELE Thabethe (31) sustained severe injuries after allegedly being mauled by two pitbulls.
The incident happened in Spruitview, Ekurhuleni, on Saturday, 25 January, and Banele is still in hospital.
Banele's uncle, Sibusiso Thabethe (49), said his nephew was allegedly attacked around midnight while going to buy a cold drink at a nearby BP petrol station.
He said while Banele walked on Goronyane Crescent Street, he saw an open gate and two pit bulls, prompting him to run.

A KASI woman is still in pain after the attack.
Kesaobaka Tsatsi (31) from Mmabatho in the North West shared her harrowing experience with Daily Sun after allegedly being mauled by a cop's three dogs on Christmas Day 2024.

The attack left her with severe injuries to her left foot and body, and she's now struggling financially for medical treatment.
"Three dogs viciously attacked me while passing on the road. The gates were not closed when the incident happened. I'm still suffering from the attack. I can't even sleep," Tsatsi said.

She claimed that during the attack, the police officer was called and informed, but he never showed interest or responsibility.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) in the Northern Cape is investigating a case of negligence following a brutal attack on a 10-year-old girl by a pit bull.
According to the SABC the young girl lost an eye and sustained a skull fracture during the attack on Tuesday.

The police have also urged the public to refrain from circulating graphic images of the victim on social media.
"The Galeshewe SAPS is investigating a case of negligence or failure to prevent an animal to cause injury to another person against the owner of the dog," the police said in a statement.

Not directly Pitbull related but in the same vein.
I had a wild experience yesterday on the beach with a dude that had a bull terrier and a younger malinois, both off the leash(he had the leashes with him) and he had no control over them, they gave zero fks for his commands. Bull terriers give me cold shivers when I see those beady little eyes, that unnatural shark like face and their insanely muscular build, literally killing machines but that combined with a malinois with it’s pitch black face and that aggressive curiosity that can turn to real aggression at the slightest aggravation made my blood run cold, literally if they decide they don't like me I would be torn to pieces in seconds.

I made a wide berth around this idiot and the first victim is 3 old people with their lapdogs, the pair of dogs were in pack mode with the malinois bolting down the beach past me with the bull terrier in hot pursuit to go engage the lapdogs, all 3 owners pick up their dogs and the bull terrier latches onto one old lady and starts barking aggressively and jumping up to reach the dog she's holding, the lady gets hysterical and that makes the bull terrier all the more frenzied. I’m 10m away watching this unfold, I have pepper spray and this will be the only time I can use it if things get unhinged but that will escalate everything to full on sht fest so I run up and put my arms around the lady to shield her hoping and praying the dog doesn't get triggered into biting, I tell the lady to repeatedly stay calm and she responds and the dog eventually backs off. The owner saunters up barely says a word.

I carry on down the beach past the a-hole and ask him to please keep his dogs away from me, mutters something but the dogs don't take heed of anything and carry on running around unabated. I make haste to get away from them but there's another lady approaching 150m down the beach with 2 dogs, the pair see this and come tearing towards me, I’m shtting myself hoping they ignore me, the malinois gives me this look but carries on, the owner is shouting something but the dogs take no heed. They reach the lady and all I can hear is screaming, I can't really make out what's happening but they eventually leave them and head back to me, all alone on the beach, the owner is probably 50m away from me and these two monsters are barrelling back towards me, fkn hell, I want to pray to something but I know that's pointless. I consider the odds of running into the water but that will get me fkn no where, I’ll barely be into the shallows before my calves are ripped off the bone. My blood is pumping and I’m expecting the worst could happen, as they reach me they hesitate but then carry on past,

I would have really enjoyed emptying my pepper spray into the face of the owner, obviously not with the two dogs around.

It illustrated how easy it is for people to be negligent with animals that are both very dangerous and have a strong attack instinct. The owner was totally remorseless, didn't give two shts about anyone else and refused to put his dogs on a leash, even after they had given an old lady a thoroughly terrifying experience. If something had triggered one of those dogs it would have been a blood bath, it still gives me the shivers thinking about it.
