The MyBB Pit Bull attack thread

Not directly Pitbull related but in the same vein.
I had a wild experience yesterday on the beach with a dude that had a bull terrier and a younger malinois, both off the leash(he had the leashes with him) and he had no control over them, they gave zero fks for his commands. Bull terriers give me cold shivers when I see those beady little eyes, that unnatural shark like face and their insanely muscular build, literally killing machines but that combined with a malinois with it’s pitch black face and that aggressive curiosity that can turn to real aggression at the slightest aggravation made my blood run cold, literally if they decide they don't like me I would be torn to pieces in seconds.

I made a wide berth around this idiot and the first victim is 3 old people with their lapdogs, the pair of dogs were in pack mode with the malinois bolting down the beach past me with the bull terrier in hot pursuit to go engage the lapdogs, all 3 owners pick up their dogs and the bull terrier latches onto one old lady and starts barking aggressively and jumping up to reach the dog she's holding, the lady gets hysterical and that makes the bull terrier all the more frenzied. I’m 10m away watching this unfold, I have pepper spray and this will be the only time I can use it if things get unhinged but that will escalate everything to full on sht fest so I run up and put my arms around the lady to shield her hoping and praying the dog doesn't get triggered into biting, I tell the lady to repeatedly stay calm and she responds and the dog eventually backs off. The owner saunters up barely says a word.

I carry on down the beach past the a-hole and ask him to please keep his dogs away from me, mutters something but the dogs don't take heed of anything and carry on running around unabated. I make haste to get away from them but there's another lady approaching 150m down the beach with 2 dogs, the pair see this and come tearing towards me, I’m shtting myself hoping they ignore me, the malinois gives me this look but carries on, the owner is shouting something but the dogs take no heed. They reach the lady and all I can hear is screaming, I can't really make out what's happening but they eventually leave them and head back to me, all alone on the beach, the owner is probably 50m away from me and these two monsters are barrelling back towards me, fkn hell, I want to pray to something but I know that's pointless. I consider the odds of running into the water but that will get me fkn no where, I’ll barely be into the shallows before my calves are ripped off the bone. My blood is pumping and I’m expecting the worst could happen, as they reach me they hesitate but then carry on past,

I would have really enjoyed emptying my pepper spray into the face of the owner, obviously not with the two dogs around.

It illustrated how easy it is for people to be negligent with animals that are both very dangerous and have a strong attack instinct. The owner was totally remorseless, didn't give two shts about anyone else and refused to put his dogs on a leash, even after they had given an old lady a thoroughly terrifying experience. If something had triggered one of those dogs it would have been a blood bath, it still gives me the shivers thinking about it.
Yup, this is exactly why beaches and all areas need to be on-leash only, with penalties for f43kheads who disregard the rules. Absolute selfish behaviour & it's why I carry a taser and pepperspray when I walk - pepperspray for the off-leash dog, taser for the 'owner'.

These psychos, fk me those bull terriers are terrifying looking dogs.

So a week ago now, this happened to us. We were walking our two dogs, both on leash. One, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier (Highly trained, and knows dozens of commands. He doesn't even look at other dogs while we walk with him. Even if they bark like mad he acts like they dont exist), and the other a small rescue dog pavement special Africanis. Walking in the park when suddenly I heard frantic screams a ways away (From other dog walkers, not the dogs owners), and turned to see one of these storming towards our smaller dog. My wife walks the smaller one, and I walk the Staffie. Within seconds my Staffie turned around and basically stopped it dead in its tracks, and latched onto its upper neck. He wears a body harnass, so I basically yanked it up and lifted him into the air, and with one command he let go. Then this dog was jumping its backside off to get at my dog I was holding like a rugby ball basically.

The people coming after their dog managed to restrain him, and then promptly starts to rage at me and my dog for attacking theirs, saying he just wanted to come play. All the other people at the park came and told them to f off as well, as I am there almost daily and they know me and my dog.

My heart has never raced like that with my dog and it could have been so so so much worse. I do not care who you are, and even with my trained dog, I never, EVER have him off leash.

I did give my dog a fat steak though, because that Bull Terrier would have ripped our poor rescue apart. And just getting my Staffy to let go was a miracle, and could have been horrible If he hadnt, for both dogs and/or us.

I have 2 Bull terriers, and never in a million years would I EVER take them to a dog park off leash.
Any one who has dogs out in public off lead is a retard in my books.

For mine, its not because they'd attack other dogs, but if some shyte started to happen I know they'd be the ones to finish it and it would be very unpleasant, and I don't need that shyte in my life thank you very much.

Yep, I agree. 3 of our couples friends all have bull terriers and they are awesome. The most loveable cuddly dogs. Not the smartest, but they always lay on my feet when I braai and always play with the kids. One of them is even friends with our dogs, and regularly comes with to the house. Like you say though, power breeds, you have them on leash. But some people just shouldn't have dogs like ours imo. :(

Never in a million years think they're not smart... they've perfected the art of milking being "stupid" until it doesn't suit them :D

Mine are little teddy bears as well, but they are power breeds.

The spontaneous tail chasing gets me lol. They just want to do whatever we are doing. Strong AF dogs as well. You must go to Hennie's and get some mugs and shirts lol. They are the mascot for that place.

Bit of a drive for me unfortunately, but yes. DIY or gardening at home is an "interesting" experience with a four legged very insistent helper/supervisor.

Another child killed in Greece :crying:

A two-year-old boy was tragically mauled to death by a pit bull on a popular Greek holiday island.

The devastating incident took place in Zakynthos while the child, along with his father and British mother, returned from a shopping trip.

The unnamed toddler is said to have escaped the attention of his parents and entered the room where the dog was chained.

And a grandfather and his three-month old granddaughter killed in the US :crying:

A Tennessee man and his three-month-old granddaughter were found dead after being mauled by seven pit bulls inside their family home.

James Alexander Smith, 50, and the baby girl were attacked by the vicious dogs inside his Tullahoma residence on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Coffee County District Attorney's Office.

Police said they were called to the gory scene at around 3pm, finding both victims dead on arrival, with some of the dogs still attacking the infant.
