A tragic incident took place last week in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng, where a three-year-old girl was fatally attacked by a pack of dogs.

In response, community members allegedly demolished shacks believed to belong to the dog owners, sadly resulting in the death of seven puppies.

Although the community's reaction cannot be justified, it highlights the urgent need for long-term solutions to the widespread problem of uncontrolled dogs.

This incident in Ekurhuleni is not an isolated case; too many dogs roam our streets, and even family pets can sometimes become aggressive.

An elderly woman from Wentworth, Durban, is in hospital after she was attacked by two pit bulls while walking home.

Delyse Augustine, in her eighties, is currently undergoing scans on her legs and head to determine the extent of her injuries and whether there is lasting damage.

The dogs bit her and other people who had tried to stop the attack in an incident late last week.

Her daughter, Bronwyn Samuels, recounted the ordeal, explaining that her mother had gone to the shops and the pharmacy to collect her medication.

I was wondering when we'll see this come up again.
It used to be that there was an attack posted almost weekly.

"One message said, “Everyone is angry and wants these dogs gone, like now. People are walking with knives and planks for protection.”"
"They say the dogs are a serious menace, and people are afraid to walk outside. They have to keep their children locked in the yard, and when they go out to collect their washing, they carry a knife just in case they run into the dogs.”

Just shoot the f**ing things.
Should have been banned decades ago, time to take the law into your own hands.

BONGEKA Sobekwa is still recovering at Tygerberg Hospital two weeks after she was attacked by two pit bulls in Kuils River.

The 34-year-old pregnant vrou said she was walking to the shop after 4pm on Thursday, October 2, when the dogs attacked her in Davis Street, Highbury.

Sobekwa recalled: “It was a cold afternoon. I didn’t use the same street that I usually use. I took a shorter one, the Davis Street.

“So, as I turned right onto the street, there were two pit bulls. I told myself to just relax. They started to bark at me, and I started to say, 'Go away.”

She said the larger of the two dogs first jumped and bit her fingers, while the second one bit her buttocks.

There's an idea: get 2 pit bulls (and a little keffer to wake them up), blame fence hopper casualties on the keeper of the keys.
