Nobody questions that MyBB is independant, but the threads have rules. Anyone is free to start their own thread expressing whatever opinon they'd like, but this thread has a specific purpose, which is to communicate with clients. Using this as a platform to vent or advertise other ISP's is expressly forbidden by the thread moderator, and is more suitable in a thread intended for that.

Right, so I need to create my own thread because my feedback in the Afrihost CAPPED ADSL Feedback (MTN) thread was construed as off topic. No doubt because it was negative. Afrihost are not happy with me calling the situation for what it is, and insist that the thread is only for helping people who are clients with issues. This excludes my feedback on the current situation.

My argument is this.

Scores of people read these forums, in an attempt to make an informed decision on what ISP they should use. Anyone with half a brain would click on the above mentioned thread to see the feedback for the Afrihost Capped product, and then make their decision. People should be equipped to make a decision BEFORE, not wait to become a client, then see the complete mess Afrihost have made (after taking their money) and then all of a sudden they prepared to discuss matters. It's reactive, and imho far too convenient to be prepared to talk about things AFTER they have taken your money.

So my question is this,

Should all feedback be allowed in the above mentioned thread?? And Im not talking about bitching and trolling, I'm talking about saying things the way they are, regardless of whether Afrihost like it or not.

I'd have to agree with Afriman, that thread is for client feedback, not alternative options?

Gotta agree here. Feedback is fine - even if it's negative. But alternative options doesn't really form part of it, for me.

If Im wrong and put in my place then so be it. I'm quite prepared to eat humble pie, I just want everyone thoughts.

Everybody's entitled to an opinion ofc. But i'd imagine if I'm running a feedback thread i'd feel pretty trolled if people post to go to ISP B (regardless of their issues or motivation prior)

Just say "After trying x times and months i'm cancelling" and be done with it :)

Are you currently a dissatisfied customer at Afrihost?

-If you are you should have the freedom to express your opinions and experiences so others can make an informed decision on which ISP to choose.

Or are you a disgruntled ex customer with an ax to grind?

-In this instants I would say you have the right tell your story but not the right to keep repeating it every 2 days.

I agree with Afriman.
That thread is for customer feedback.

However, nothing stops you creating a new thread?

I think a feedback is a feedback . If Afriman wants to control the conversation he should create a forum on Afrihost website for his clients the way which many international companies act .
Beside if every member which will have a problem with ISP will open his own thread this will turn the forum into a mess .
