Is it the HD2950 or HD3870?

and also (upgrading soon) what is better, the new G92 (8800GT) or the R670 (HD2950/HD3870)

Was about to say the same thing..

Killa you dont even know how the HD3800's will perform :p

yea but i said the 2950 raz :)

i saw benchies from crysis and the 8800gt gives both the gts 320 and 2950xt a hiding of note :)

yea the 3800's i dont know, but i know the 8800gt will be released on time, i cannot say the same for the new ati card

plus word around google is the 3800's are more or less the same, but will they be priced right?

the cards have been released and bechmarks are out

raz u showed 14k in 3dmark06, yet your saying cards should not be judded before they are released :)
it may not be available for the public but for all the testers they have it, HENSE ALL THE BENCHIES WE HAVE SEEN :)

Actually, you are wrong. It was not a 2950xt benchmark... it was a benchmark comparing old gen cards with new gen cards. They compared the 8800gt to the 1950xt.

The name is HD3800, ie. 3870 = 800/2400Mhz 512MB and 3850 = 700/1800 256MB

That is out of my head though.. pricing should be MSRP $300 and $220.

At those prices the 8800GT definitely, if you have time to wait around just let it get it's final pricing and some benchmarks.

EDIT: Ja btw killa the HD3800's are the 2950's, new name. They were comparing the usual 2900's that have been out for a while. But you're still probably right, just depends on the price really.

syzy they did not my man why would they put an 8800gt (new) vs a 1950xt (old) when ati has a 2950xt out

they have benchies for crysis and a few other games with the gts 320 the gtx 2950xt and the 8800gt

i was amazed how close the 8800gt was to the 8800gtx

this is what i was looking for, soz it was infact 2900 not the 2950xt

WELL! most you people are... silly. Nvidia wants you guys to think that the ati cards will be worse, thats why they released early. Ati is having a full release I read where they release there cards, in other words, they are releasing all their new cards at once...

MY advise is to wait a tiny bit, and then see if the gt really does kill ati's answer (as some of you proclaim)...

lol killa i was just saying it out of context :p

Gonna get a 8800gt for R2450, will wait a day or 3 to see if I can get cheaper elsewhere :)
Otherwise, upgrade time baby :D

Hmm might still wait for some leaked benchies of the updated gts before i fully commit to the GT. And im also curious as to how the 3800's will perform. Maybe worse as all of you proclaim but who knows...only ATI i presume.Time is your friend...not your enemy!

I really doubt the new GTS will be as cheap...

Apparently around 305$...but if it completely whips a GTX it might just be worth it..?

raz i wouldnt buy this card if i was you :)

save up for the higher end ones that will be a slightly more

yea 305 dolla for a gtx beater would be awesome :)

my chicks parents are going to hong kong in sept, hopefully the new gtx is out by then :)
