The new Quad Core

hahah soz man, i just love seeing screenies of awesome hardware :)

i dont believe anything till i see da screenies :)

o yea and raz i dont brag man, hahaha cause i only got a q6600 and 3850

not really anything to mad about

lol killa i didnt mean you specifically you with the bragging.. Just the general attitude is quite childish in that grim+doner thread. Oh well, over it :p

I may be wrong but I think Shock G has access to nice pretty hardware to test it out, yet has to keep quiet about the details. He is the envy of many :D

Decided to give 8 cores a break and now concentrating on the mortal version of the CPUs used in Skulltrail. That is, the QX9770.
Lovely big CPU this. So far it's bench stable at 4.5GHz (450x10 or 429x10.5) and while it is much warmer than the QX9650, it does seem to overclock much better.

If you haven't experienced it, you should. Crysis at 4.5GHz and 2x 8800GTS 512MiB plays, well the same way it does on an X6800 @ 3.8GHz with a single 8800Ultra :P

he is the envy of every man and the only way to get off is for him to post screenies which i can use in the bathroom when im all alone :)

SCREEEEEEEEEEENIES SHOCK!!!!!!!!!!!

yea but sli aint good to be honest, i think crossfire performs better

shock i have a q6600, the new 8200 will run faster in single threaded apps right?
will the 8200 be faster than e6850?

The 8200 is most certainly going to be faster 99% of the time. Yes there are a few games that are multi thread but they are far and few in between. There's not real need or urgency to go quad core, as its very rare that you encode a movie and play a game at the same time and even when you do, you'll need to do each task on a separate hard drive :| If you can go quad go quad, (new quad that is) but for the most part dual cores are still king
