By the hammer of Thor! That's orsm!

Yeah I noticed you could save builds and so on... I dig my pet, but I'm thinking of going Marksman as well - just for the sake of using my feathery bow :D

Is there some sort of stable function where you can keep previous pets to re-use after you've tamed new ones? My leopard is lvl 9 now and I don't want to lose him if I can't get him back.

I have very little exp in pets but IIRC go to Guildwiki and check out http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Zaishen_Menagerie_Grounds

Yeah each class can do so many things cause you can reroll your stats and skill points at the drop of a hat :D

I prefer my ele -> wammo -> Ranger -> Sin -> monk -> derv -> Mesmer

Have not played a necro for long enough to form an opinion. And I have never played a paragon :/ They do seem like they could be fun even if they look a tad gay :p

*lol*

Those paragons are terribly sailorish... Signature move: "we break out in song!"

I'm thinking of rolling an ele when I restart Prophecies with my mate... Him and his bro are both starting to play although I think the bro's played for a while now. Is your guild open to "trial" invites or not?

Trail invites?

Ps you can leave when you chose to do so ;)

But no begging, spamming or being a general D**s :)

Well that's why I'm asking about trial invites ... It sucks inviting people to your guild who you help and then they sod off for greener pastures.

The WrG guild won AGASA a few years back and we have the biggest SA WoW guild atm, so I've seen players come and go. Only reason I'm asking about the trial phase is because I'm going to need a lot of help in the form of advice more so than being boosted etc... and I don't want to be a burdon on the rest of your guild.

Thanks chief :)

I'll be taking it very casual for the first while. I'm doing as much reading on the guildwiki as I can, but it would be pretty nifty (and here goes another wow reference) if they had something similar to www.wowhead.com which gives breakdowns of all possible weapons/gear/areas/quests/whatnot including forums for guys to sort out their class issues etc.

Also one more thing ... is it possible to inspect someone's gear at all (without them popping it in the trade window) ?

Guildwarsguru + PvXwiki + Guildwiki = Everything you need to know and more about different class builds, team builds, PvE, PvP, Missions, quests, weapons, skills, armour suggestions etc etc.

Remember armour is also a standard max per class limit. Warrs have heavier armour as oppose to casters (elementalist etc). Every class has class specif. insignias and runes that they can upgrade their armour with. There are also general insignias and runes that you may add to your armour.

Nope, but you can safely asume that the person is using a max dmg weapon long before he/she reaches lvl20. same for the armour most players have max armour for their class at around level 14-15.

Elite armour is in no way better than normal max spec armour, it just looks cooler, same with weapons :)

Ah all right ... so there are no weapon/armor drops from dungeon bosses etc. that people die over getting?

I remember going all over with my Dervish to collect silly scrap material for different collectors to make me new armor ... do you get your top level armor from Vendors too?

EDIT: I just read now that you don't get gear drops, but rather cap Elite skills from Bosses... VERY INTERESTING. So you kill bosses to increase skill - not gear. I like it!

Yip. thats why GW = less grind.

GW is more about how you use your skills chain (only 8 skills / spells allowed on your bar for use at a time with only one elite amongs the 8) than about the gear.

And you will see later how diverse classes with their secondaries can be. From scythe wielding Sins to nuker mesmers to spear wielding warriors and necros that heal.

Yup - doing reading, it seems that a touch-ranger ( i think ) can pretty much become an assassin...and the scythe ones are pretty badass too.

The 2ndary class/profession seems to be a lot more involved than one would imagine. I always thought it was a Jack-of-all-trades / King-of-none type of scenario. But it's way more complex than that.

Secondary class is awesome cause you cant put point into the secondary proff's primary skill tree but the others are open :D

A hammer sin is awesome in Random arenas :D

I just wanted to answer this more directly...

Yes, there are weapons that drop from dungeon bosses too, infact pretty much any boss drops their own Unique weapon, which is green. It is only really Prophecies bosses that do not drop any unique weapons, only the bosses in Grenth's Footprint and Sorrow's Furnace drop greens... Oh and some bosses in the Crystal desert (Kepkhet)... Sorrow's part was added later to the Prophecies game as a free content update, dubbed as an elite area.

In certain dungeons, like in EotN, you get reward chests at the end of the dungeon which gives you a drop chance of getting the Boss's specific Unique (green) weapon or a rare Gold weapon. Some of these Gold weapons sell for quite a bit of gold, i.e. Voltaic Spears, Bone Dragon Staffs, Silverwing Recurve Bows (best animation!) - [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rWjTxieMfQ&NR[/ame]
This is the weapons players go for if they want to pimp their char. A perfect (req 9) Bone Dragon staff and Silverwing Recurve bow can cost you easily several hundred ectos.
Bosses / reward chests do not drop armor.

All Bosses also have Elite Skills for their profession, which you can capture from them once they are dead, using a special Signet, Signet of Capture.
As you probably know by now, each class of Boss have their specific color you can identify them with, Necromancer boss is dark green, ranger is light green, warrior is yellow, etc.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Boss
Each Boss will carry a specific Elite skill from a Specific attribute line.
You can also learn Elite Skills from Elite Tomes, if you have the Elite unlocked on your account. You can unlock skills on your account and for a specific character with what is called Balthazar faction. You earn Balthazar faction by playing PvP. Normal skills cost 1000 Balth to unlock and Elite skills 3000. You can also unlock heroes this way.
Once skills are unlocked on your account, it becomes immediately available to be used by your heroes (only NF and EotN have Heroes).

Normal Armor / Elite Armor you must craft at Armor Crafters, with certain specific normal and rare crafting materials and some gold needed. The more Elite the armor, the more expensive, of course.
Much like max weapons (having the same damage), max armor all have the same protection, some just look better than others. It is personal preference really.
Most of the Elite Armors are further into each of the Campaigns -
Droknars Forge is the first place in Prophecies you can buy Max normal armor, and then Granite Citadel / Marhan's Grotto for Elite armors.
In Factions, you can buy max armor in Kaineng City, and the Elite armors are in Vasburg Armory and Leviathan Pits and then also at the end-game of Factions, in the Divine Path.
In NF, you get max armor at the Consulate Docks (virtually straight off noob-island) and Elite armors at quite a few places, of which the first is Sunspear Command Center, then Kodash Bazaar, then Bone Palace, and then the end-game area.
In EotN, you get elite max armor all over, but at the different factions (Norn in Gunnar's Hold - Asuran in Rata Sum - Monument (Vanguard) in Eye of the North - Deldrimor (Dwarven) and Silver Eagle armor in Central Transfer Chamber) each gives you their kind with specific skins and looks, you must have rank5 in the appropriate title line for each faction to get the armor.

The Core Elite armor is found in Fissure of Woe. Which is called Obsidian Armor - http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Obsidian_armor.
It is considered to be the most expensive armor ingame, requiring 60k for all the pieces in gold and then between 105 - 120 ectos and 105 - 120 Obsi shards, depending on what char it is and then some more normal crafting material. The price of this armor becomes evident when 1 Ecto is between 4-5k and obsi shards 1-2k, so the full armor is easily worth about 900k.
Well not too bad, especially if you consider that Chaos Gloves - http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Chaos_Gloves - is 10k in Gold and 75 ectos on its own, this is alone about 300k+.

You can even pimp your heroes armor in NF and EotN with special green crafting material and certain armor crafters.

And that is that about weapons, skills and armor. Very basic.

Do you by any chance have the link to the spiritway hero builds?
Sure, here's a few:

Rt/N - Reclaim Essence Communing / Curses
OASjcggMpOOTk73czFtfc2BlL

N/Rt - SoS Channeling minions
OAhjUoGoITXTlTVBoBVTYMeTKgA

N/Rt - WoR / Xinrae's resto
OAhiYwhMZtJNN5MMNOxJCAkcB

Rt/any - Defensive Ritual Lord supporter
OACjAuiKpOFsw5jz6t5YmBToJ

Rt/any - Offensive Ghostly Might wrangler
OACjAyiJZSFMRbfTnNlTdiObXMA

Rt/any - Spirit Channeling supporter
OACiIyk84NdcLTMX1kZeNvYA

1/ If you have 2 humans, then any combination of the above will do, but try to fit in your usual fully-loaded SS and MM heroes.
2/ Make sure not to duplicate spirits, take a good combo of Channeling, Resto and Communing heroes.
3/ You need at least 1-2 physicals in your team to trigger Barbs in one of the builds and also for the melee to control the agro and to make sure AoE do not kill the spirits.
4/ ???????
5/ Profit.
