:D my oldest character (Warrior) was lvl 15 until about a month ago! I enjoyed my Dervish much more (guess it is due to Nightfall and Heroes) but now my favorite is my Ritualist! He pawns all lol. Have you joined our guild yet like Devill said?

My first char was a warrior in Nightfall. Got to about 10 or 11 before I got Factions and got myself an assassin. The sin is at lvl20 but I haven't finished the campaign (yet!). I have an elementalist (Prophecy) but got to just after the searing.

I'm playing a dervish now, and I love it alot. Especially the forms :D

Nah not yet ... I played a bit on my Prophecies Ranger last night and got pwned 6-love. Then I remembered that I could team up withe henchies which then made the quest a breeze :eek:

I'm almost lvl 11 now...

A quick question... Is it possible to have different characters in different guilds like in WoW or does your guild affiliation tie to your account?

My chars thus far:

lvl10 Ranger/Ele - Feanor Valinor
lvl10 Dervish/?? - Yomah Sahara

Unless things have changed, no, all characters are tied to the guild.

Ah all right- I'll check with the guys to see if they want to donate any of their gold/items they no longer use etc. to me before I jump ship. That way I won't need to sponge off the new guild. :eek:

Uhm ... not really sure. :eek:

Pretty much just random gear, currency and such...I haven't done proper reading up on what drops and what vendor items are better and such. I'm still stuck in the WoW mentality.

So much so that I vendored a green item the other night by mistake. :(

See, In WoW - the order of value from worst to best is as follows...

Gray Items = trash
White items = vendor bought & useless
Green items = uncommon but drops off random mobs
Blue items = Rare - hectic quest rewards & drops off bosses
Purple items = Epic - mostly drops of max lvl final bosses or bought with emblems/tokens.
Orange items = Legendary - 1% drop rate off endgame bosses :/

I've been reading up on GW wiki's and can't for the life of me find out where it says what colour is generally better. (obviously depending on the level rank of the weapon)

I have some purple and blue bows on my ranger - not sure which I should try and trade and which just to vendor...I have the Nevermore collector's edition bow as well, which I can't use until I have 9 marksman points. :(

There are Max stats for every weapon and (class') armour piece.

For instance swords max dmg is 15-22 (IIRC :eek:) and people pay more for the rare skin (look) of the weapon than the actual stats as no sword can do more dmg than the max (15-22).

Then there is another thing, the requirement for a weapon. You play a derv and a ranger atm. For a ranger IIRC the max dmg on a bow is 15-28 and those weapons will have a requirement ranging from rank 8-13 in Marksmanship. If you do not have the required amount in the skill set the weaponn does proportionally less damage. For instance lets say you have a max dmg bow (15-28) which is req13 and you only have 10 levels in marksmanship you will do 10-23 dmg (not sure as to the maths, this is an educated guess :p).

White weapons = normal
Purple = Not max mods (99% of the time)
Gold = max mods or two on it.
Green = Named weapons (most are not very valuable because they have been over farmed)

Remember all these colours' max dmg will still be the same. you pay for the rarety of the skin (look).

Any other questions young padawan?

Blue = lowest
Purple = next up
Gold = great
Green = unique

(I think!)

Yes but the greens are worth less than some of the golds.

Like I said its all about the skin (look) of the weapon. Some gold skins go for literally 1100 times the price any green would go for ;)

Ah ok cool - so my nevermore bow I can then pretty much keep when I'm lvl 20?

Stats:

* Piercing damage 15-28 (req. 9 Marksmanship)
* Lengthens poison duration on foes by 33%
* Damage +15% (while Health is above 50%)
* Damage +20% (customized)

Notes

* The Poisonous Nevermore Flatbow is a Flatbow.
* The Poisonous Nevermore Flatbow can be created in Pre-Searing, allowing the character to wield a bow with maximum damage and stats, giving them an advantage over the low level creatures.
* This bow's appearance and name are likely a reference to Edgar Allan Poe's poem, "The Raven."
* This item can be upgraded with a Bow Grip, although the bow cannot be salvaged to return the added component to you.

Are there any recommended rotations for max damage per class?

I.e. what skill to use as an opener, a nuker and a finisher? based on the cooldown timers & mana/energy regen usage.

There you go again with them WoW terms. Go Look at PvXwiki and check a couple of ranger PvE builds.

Then you can start thinking if you want a degen build || Splinter weapon (for mob dmg) || Scythe ranger || etc etc.

Ps yes your bow is fine for you to use till level 20 and beyond :)

Ps one thing I forgot to mention is greens weapons are nice because they are mostly not expensive and they are req 9 :)

My apologies for the wow-terms, I'm just trying to form a baseline reference point using what I know. :eek:

The sad part is I started playing GW in 2006 and only took up WoW halfway through last year, but only got to lvl 10 in it as opposed to the 1700+hrs I've put into my rogue on wow.

In GW we usually have a chain of attacks. For instance a warrior will use something like

Skill to get adrenaline -> skill that does dmg -> adrenalin skill to knock down enemy-> skill to cause deepwound.

I play all the classes and for each class there could be different uses.

For instance I use my necros as healers some times and I use my elementalist as a tank sometimes.

Ah ok I see...

I'm busy reading up on rangers now with different builds (specs) i.e. trappers / interrupters / flatout dps'ers with Bows.

Is it possible to reset your talent points and reassign from the start so you can go into a different build?

Also, which is considered best for leveling ... beast mastery or marksmanship? I'm assuming marksman does better dps, but beast mastery works better when you're alone and your pet can tank. Then again, if you always have a group of henchies - then there's no need right?

I prefer the marksmanship way.

And yes thats what makes GW awesome. You can change your build to match the enemies / area as easily as you change your windows background.

I have over 70 builds for my elementalist alone :)

By the hammer of Thor! That's orsm!

Yeah I noticed you could save builds and so on... I dig my pet, but I'm thinking of going Marksman as well - just for the sake of using my feathery bow :D

Is there some sort of stable function where you can keep previous pets to re-use after you've tamed new ones? My leopard is lvl 9 now and I don't want to lose him if I can't get him back.
