The noobs starter guide : FAQ's

WHoa! I bout GW one of the games cant remember which 1, but DAM! I never knew it was so involved I played a bit but stopped, coz of battleforge and HON. Might start again, how do I go PVP?

You can either create a PvP only char... which starts as lvl 20. PvP chars can not go to PvE areas or do the missions.

Or build up a char from lvl 1 which can do both PvE or PvP.
 
Just started playing last night, so far so good.
Just want to ask a few things.

I took a Mesmer and like right at the beginning (only level 2 i think) i was already able to take a second profession. Is this a good thing to do?
Then after i took a profession i spoke to some dude about going to Charr or soemthing, i said no coz i have no clue what will happen, should i go or not?

That will be your life line :) (F12 in game iirc)

You are playing prophecies. Do some quest and do the tutorial so you have a basic grasp of things.

Another thing, what latency do others get?
I get between 480 - 550. I am with Afrihost.
Would getting an unshaped line help much??

No idea if unshaped would help much. Try moving to another district (right top corner when in town). In euro english district I get a ping of 250-450 on a 384 line with cybersmart.

Ps also look under pre searing on the wiki.guildwars.com site as that is where you are now :)
 
Q: What is better, joining a Guild or making your own. What is the Pros and Cons of each. Also what do you need in order to make your own Guild.

Depends on how are you new to game, if you are new, then you need to learn it, possibly with a guild.
Making own add extra in-game responsibilities, like recruiting and up-keeping it.

In a guild you can have following benefits:
*People who you can help and ask help from them.
*Guild Hall, a dedicated outpost for you members and alliance members. Depending on fullness, you can buy materials, runes, merchants, etc.
*Activities which you can do together. Depending on your members.
*Guild cape.
Following cons:
*You may need to be active.
*You need to recruit if you are leader or officer.
*You need to do considerations like upgrading Guild Hall and promoting members to officers (caution must be taken when promoting members).

Also what do you need in order to make your own Guild.

*Register guild for a fee.
*Make a cape(designs can created by you) for larger fee. (Optional)
*Buy a Guild Hall (a large fee, like 10-15k), (Optional)
*Upgrade Guild Hall (fee may range from 5k to 100k), (Optional)

Q: I have only played a trail of Guild Wars Factions back in 2007, I had one character. It was a level 14 monk and I was still busy checking out the second professions and which one is the best suited for me (doing those quests). Someone requested me to be in his guild so I accepted and then he discovered I am on a trail account, lol, but I said that I am going to buy the game after the trail expires so he said ok and kept me in his guild (I am now so sad I didn't live up to my promise). What I want to know is, what will I expect to see when I buy the game (which I am planning to do in the next few days), what happened to my character and Guild if I log in again and add the new access key.

Theoretically, you should be able to continue to play with your monk and be in guild, unless leader kicks you.

Q: Is it possible to transfer minipets/miniatures between characters?

A: You can move absolutely anything between your characters on one account, using Xunlai Storage.
 
Well, to say you can move 'anything' is a bit of a stretch, because there are cases you cannot, but most things you can - to answer your question more directly about items, including minipets / minis - yes you can.
Some items you cannot use if it is customised or you cannot dedicate minis in HoM if they have been dedicated on another char, etc. Armor is also a no-go, being char-specific.

if you cant find it then just reply to this and ill add you , im lvl 14 N/M (just incase the healer NPC/player dies ^^,) on prophecies. recently started playing again but alas the guild disbanded lol . so im a lone wolf now !! i still have a lower lvl necro somewhere in the snowwy mountains. poor thing , havent played with that character for years lol
